LG Electronics announced that it is launching four laundry appliances equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) functions. The new lineup consists of four products: ▲the LG TROMM AI Washer (25 kg), ▲the LG TROMM AI Dryer (25 kg), ▲the LG TROMM AI Objet Collection WashTower (23 kg washing and drying), and ▲the LG TROMM AI WashCombo Compact (11 kg washing, 6 kg drying). First, the ‘AI WashTower’ comes with identical washing and drying capacities of 23 kg, so even large loads can be moved straight to the dryer after washing without needing to be divided. In addition, the new product features a 7-inch display. LG Electronics offers a wide range of products, including various combinations of washing (23, 24, and 25 kg) and drying (20, 21, 22, and 25 kg) capacities, as well as a compact model (13 kg washing, 10 kg drying) with reduced dimensions. The ‘AI WashCombo Compact’ is a model suited to one- and two-person households, measuring 14 cm shorter in height, 10 cm narrower in width, and 25 cm shallower in depth than the existing product. Installing a MiniWash (2.5 kg) at the bottom allows delicate garments and underwear to be washed separately, and the AI Washer and AI Dryer were launched with a capacity of up to 25 kg, the largest in Korea. Convenience is further enhanced by a Smart On function, which automatically turns on the power so that washing or drying can begin as soon as the door is closed. The new products also add sophisticated ▲Taupe and ▲Almond colors. Customers can choose a color to match their home interior, from ▲Essence White, ▲Green, ▲Beige, and ▲Black to ▲Modern Stainless. LG Electronics has further improved the performance and convenience of the new products with AI technology that intelligently controls the washing and drying process. The AI DD Motor, which combines LG Electronics’ core component technology with AI, can wash and dry with the optimal motion among six motions according to factors such as fabric type, soil level, and load size, causing less damage to fabrics. The products are also equipped with various AI functions, including AI Time Sensing, which detects the load size within about 3 seconds after laundry is loaded while the power is connected and immediately provides the estimated washing and drying time for each course, and AI Time Guidance, which provides an increasingly accurate estimated drying-completion time tailored to the usage environment the more the appliance is used.
Prices are 2.49 million won for the AI WashCombo Compact, 2.1 million won for the AI Washer, 2.44 million won for the AI Dryer, and 4.44 million won for the AI WashTower. All of the new products carry a Grade 1 energy efficiency rating, making them eligible for the top-efficiency home appliance rebate program.
