KCC Glass (Chairman Chung Mong-ik) has launched 'Crystal Series,' a high-performance single Low-E glass that combines both performance and design, offering high thermal insulation and cost efficiency along with a variety of colors that reflect the latest trends.
Low-E glass is a product that enhances thermal insulation by coating a silver metal layer onto the glass surface. Glass coated with a single silver metal layer is classified as single Low-E glass, while glass coated twice is classified as double Low-E glass. Single Low-E glass has long been widely used in a variety of buildings thanks to its beautiful colors, ease of processing, and good cost efficiency, but securing sufficient thermal insulation has become difficult with the tightening of insulation regulations.
The newly launched 'Crystal Series' is expected to meet consumer demand by dramatically improving thermal insulation—long considered a weakness of single Low-E glass—while retaining the excellent cost efficiency and workability of single Low-E glass. 'Crystal Series,' a high-performance single Low-E glass, boasts a KS-standard thermal transmittance of 1.03 W/㎡K (based on 28T 16Ar double glazing), the highest level among single Low-E glass in Korea.
In addition, reflecting the increasingly diverse latest trends in glass colors, the product is offered in clear, silver, blue, gray, and other colors that are currently most preferred in the building market, establishing a product lineup that enables the creation of sophisticated building exteriors. 'Crystal Series' has already been confirmed for application in a large-scale mixed-use facility currently under construction in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with installation scheduled for the first half of this year.
A KCC Glass official emphasized, "The newly introduced Crystal Series is a product that offers excellent thermal insulation while maintaining the cost efficiency and workability of single Low-E glass, and together with KCC Glass's double Low-E glass products—the highest-performing in Korea—it will lead the popularization of Low-E glass going forward," adding, "KCC Glass will continue to firmly establish itself as a comprehensive glass company trusted by customers by stably supplying differentiated glass that meets customer needs and the government's high-insulation policies aimed at improving energy efficiency."
Meanwhile, KCC Glass, which boasts the largest production capacity for flat glass and coated glass in Korea, has an integrated production system spanning from raw material production to finished products, and through stable product supply it has maintained the No. 1 market share in the domestic glass market. 02-2015-8500
