HUVIS has unveiled a new functional interior board, 'GREENVIVA AHSF'.

The 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board is a functional interior board that finishes one side of the existing 'GREENVIVA' with a fabric design applied through sublimation transfer printing, and it is a polyester sound-absorbing and insulating material. The 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board is distinguished by its proprietary digital design realized directly on polyester raw fiber. As a result, it retains the physical properties and excellent performance of polyester while offering the advantage of requiring no separate finishing material. As befits a functional interior board, it not only delivers the excellent sound absorption of the original product but also provides flame-retardant and thermal insulation performance, making it applicable to a wide range of spaces such as offices, churches, gymnasiums, and personal studios.

The HUVIS 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board uses carefully selected dyes to realize a variety of colors, and custom designs can be produced to meet consumer requests. Until now, polyester interior-finish sound-absorbing boards have posed problems with flame-retardant performance, because all raw materials—fabric, adhesive, and sound-absorbing board—were each manufactured separately rather than in one place before being assembled into a finished product; the biggest issue pointed out was that responsibility in the event of a fire was unclear. In fact, even when a fabric has obtained a flame-retardant certificate, the adhesive, fabric, and sound-absorbing material used in the actual lamination process are made of different materials, causing the product to fall short of the National Fire Agency's flame-retardant standards and raising concerns in the event of a fire. For products currently on the market in which fabric is attached to a polyester sound-absorbing board, the flame-retardant certificate is, in most cases, a flame-retardant certification for the fabric alone. To solve these problems, HUVIS developed the 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board over a preparation period of about two years. The 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board maintains the physical properties of polyester as they are, but rather than using adhesive, it is compression-molded with heat into a finished product and then obtains a flame-retardant certificate. Actual combustion testing demonstrates its excellent flame-retardant performance, showing self-extinguishing behavior in which flames do not spread and the material melts away without igniting. Another strength is that it produces almost no toxic gas.

In addition, because the 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board is created with a digital design, it overcomes the limitations that polyester materials have in expressing texture and design, enabling precise designs and a variety of colors. HUVIS plans to offer four to five patterns of the 'GREENVIVA AHSF' board initially, and going forward it intends to develop and introduce additional colors and designs to meet consumer demands. 02-2189-4953
