Kyungdong Navien is drawing industry attention with the launch of the 'Navien Condensing ON AI,' which features enhanced hot-water functions.
According to Kyungdong Navien, the 'Navien Condensing ON AI' highlights the importance of hot water by proposing the number of bathrooms—rather than floor area—as the standard for choosing a boiler. It also offers solutions to the inconvenience of waiting for hot water to arrive and to the problem of water being cut off or fluctuating in temperature when hot water is used in multiple places around the home at once. The core feature of the 'Navien Condensing ON AI' is the 'Hot Water Ready System.' Pressing the quick button before use activates the Hot Water Ready valve, which pre-heats the cold water sitting in the pipes so that hot water can be used within 10 seconds. That is more than 93% faster than conventional boilers. The product maintains a consistent hot-water temperature through a mixing valve. In addition, because it blends in an appropriate amount of cold water whenever the hot-water temperature changes, the temperature stays consistent even when hot water is used simultaneously or turned off and back on. The hot-water volume is generous as well. On top of an ample supply designed to match the number of bathrooms, a turbo pump increases output by about 6 liters (based on a 10-minute shower) compared with conventional boilers.
Kyungdong Navien has also equipped the 'Navien Condensing ON AI' with artificial intelligence features. The most notable is the Fast Hot Water Smart Operation feature. With this feature, an AI server automatically analyzes the home's hot-water usage patterns and quickly supplies hot water in line with peak usage times. Based on this feature, Kyungdong Navien became the first in the industry to earn AI+ certification from the Korean Standards Association (KSA). The product also analyzes the home's energy consumption at the beginning of each month. It calculates the amount of gas used for heating and hot water and, from this, estimates the expected gas bill. Users can compare the current month's gas usage with the same month of the previous year, or with other households using a boiler of the same capacity.
In addition, Kyungdong Navien is the first in the domestic industry to introduce a 'wireless firmware update (FOTA)' feature. Just like a smartphone that automatically updates its software to the latest OS, the 'Navien Condensing ON AI' can likewise offer newly added features through continuous updates.
A Kyungdong Navien official said, "The Navien Condensing ON AI, our first hot-water appliance, is a product prepared to break the existing perception of boilers as mere heating equipment and to transform in line with customers' needs and lifestyles," adding, "Starting with the launch of this new product, we will make various efforts to provide a more comfortable living environment so that the boiler can evolve into a home appliance tailored to the customer." 1588-1144
