Legrand Korea Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Legrand Korea), the Korean subsidiary of the Legrand Group, is launching a 'Digital Door Lock' as a new business venture in 2024.
The 'Digital Door Lock' is a solution that Legrand Korea did not previously offer, and with this launch, Legrand Korea now possesses a complete lineup of product solutions applicable to the residential environment. Developed to target the premium market, Legrand Korea's 'Premium Digital Door Lock' enhances the product's refinement by applying an in-mold carbon-pattern finish. It adopts an intuitive push-pull mechanism—push to exit and pull to enter—designed so that users can escape without confusion in an emergency. In addition, the long body not only adds a sense of luxury but also applies the principle of leverage so that it can be operated with the least amount of force.
The new product also features a built-in premium fingerprint-recognition function that boasts fast recognition within 0.9 seconds and can register up to 100 fingerprints. It also supports door opening via a traditional password method and a smart card key, with the smart key available in both key-ring and sticker types. Legrand Korea's 'Premium Digital Door Lock' also includes a variety of features for safety. In particular, an instant-lock function has been applied to relieve the anxiety a woman living alone—or anyone in a situation where many people pass by the entrance—may feel until the moment the door closes. This function further enhances safety by allowing users to set the door-closing time from 0 seconds up to a maximum of 9 seconds to suit their situation. Moreover, in the event of a fire, a high-temperature detection function activates, triggering an alarm and automatic unlocking so that users can escape more safely. In addition, it incorporates a triple-security hook-type mortise, intrusion/tampering alarms, a decoy (dummy code) function, and a manner (silent) function, and can also be controlled via a smartphone.
An official from Legrand Korea said, "The newly launched digital door lock guarantees users a high level of safety along with convenience through its various features, and it will provide an innovative solution well suited to the lifestyle of modern people."
