Beginning in February, Hyundai Elevator (CEO Song Seung-bong) is launching full-scale sales of its new product 'N:EX,' which comes standard with contactless technologies such as smartphone 'Bluetooth tagging (residential buildings)' and a 'Motion Call Button (commercial buildings)' that recognizes movement to call the elevator without touching a button.
Bluetooth tagging, which will be applied to residential buildings, is a technology that allows residents to call and ride the elevator through tagging alone—without physical contact—once they install a dedicated application (H-Mobile Thru) on their smartphone and register their destination floor. The 'Motion Call Button,' which comes standard on commercial buildings, calls the elevator by recognizing movement such as a hand gesture without any contact.
The new product 'N:EX' comes in a total of three variants—Strong Black, Brilliant Bronze, and Nature's Green—designed with nature motifs such as rock, wood, and grassland. In addition, by adopting a belt instead of a rope, its lifespan is extended by two to three times, and its oil-free system realizes an eco-friendly elevator. Furthermore, 'N:EX' comes equipped as standard with a HEPA filter anion air purifier, helping maintain a pleasant indoor space.
Hyundai Elevator CEO Song Seung-bong said, "As COVID-19 has raised awareness of hygiene in shared spaces and the elevator—once regarded merely as a means of transportation—has established itself as a benchmark for enhancing a building's value, the market is changing rapidly." He added, "Through the introduction of new technologies and IT convergence, we will differentiate our products and services and establish a new normal for elevators."
Meanwhile, in October 2020, Hyundai Elevator pioneered the elevator contactless technology market by unveiling its 'Clean Moving Solution,' which includes the Motion Call Button and minimizes contact in the elevator—a shared space—while reducing the spread of contaminants. Since its release, the Motion Call Button has been adopted in Hyundai Premium Outlet SPACE1 (Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province) and in Shinsung Gwan-gwan, a luxury apartment complex being developed in the Donggang International Business District of Dalian, China. It was recently confirmed for adoption in the newly launched 2,407-unit apartment complex Uijeongbu Gosan Sujain The STIZ, gradually expanding its market. 031-644-5114
