Bosch Power Tools is launching two professional cordless grinders, the ‘GWX 18V-15 SC Bare Tool’ and the ‘5-inch GWS 18V-15 SC Bare Tool,’ which further upgrade its existing BITURBO lineup with technologies such as X-LOCK.
First, the ‘GWX 18V-15 SC’ is a high-end cordless grinder that incorporates both of Bosch’s innovative technologies, BITURBO and X-LOCK, maximizing the tool’s work efficiency and convenience. BITURBO technology draws on the synergy between Bosch’s high-performance brushless motor and the ultra-powerful premium battery ProCORE18V to deliver corded-tool-class output of up to 1,500 W. This lets users experience cutting speeds 50% faster than before, along with efficient grinding work. In addition, the X-LOCK system allows accessories to be swapped out easily with one touch—without separate parts (spanner, flange, lock nut), wrenches, or keys—enabling disc changes up to 5 times faster than before.
The ‘GWX 18V-15 SC’ stands out not only for its two innovative technologies but also for its various convenience features. Speed can be adjusted across six levels via the display (HMI) located on the tool head, and the new low-power connectivity module ‘GCY42’ provides excellent connectivity. By linking the grinder with the Bosch Toolbox app via Bluetooth, users can customize and set the speed they want—from 3,400 rpm to 9,800 rpm—step by step directly in the app to match the task at hand. The Toolbox app also lets users check the tool’s status and receive alerts. The tool is also equipped with features that ensure user safety during work. The intelligent X-Brake system can bring the disc to a complete stop within one second. Furthermore, if the disc catches on an obstacle and a sudden overload causes kickback, or if the tool falls and hits the ground, the tool stops on its own to prevent accidents, and a restart protection feature prevents the tool from restarting automatically when the power supply is temporarily interrupted.
In addition, Bosch Power Tools is also introducing the new ‘GWS 18V-15 SC’ Bare Tool. This is a version of the BITURBO cordless grinder ‘GWS 18V-15 SC,’ released this past July, with the disc diameter expanded from 100 mm (4 inches) to 125 mm (5 inches).
