The Bosch Power Tools division (division head Park Jin-hong) has launched the ‘GWX 18V-7 Professional’, a professional cordless angle grinder that applies Bosch's innovative ‘X-LOCK’ technology and offers enhanced compactness.

‘X-LOCK’ is an innovative technology that allows quick and easy grinder disc changes with a single click. With no need for separate parts (flanges and lock nuts), wrenches or keys, it is simple to use and enables disc changes up to five times faster. In particular, the absence of lock nut interference allows flat grinding work without surface scratches, and directional accessories such as diamond discs cannot be mounted incorrectly, reducing operator error and boosting work efficiency.

This new product is characterized by its further reduced size and weight compared to the popular X-LOCK grinder ‘GWX 18V-8’, maximizing the convenience of a cordless tool. Weighing a light 1.6 kg without the battery and featuring a long, compact design, it enables cutting and grinding work even overhead or in tight spaces. In addition, its ergonomic, slim handle design provides perfect tool balance, reducing fatigue during work.

Furthermore, despite its compact design, it is equipped with a powerful brushless motor comparable to the 700-watt level of corded products, delivering 40 watts more output power than the previous model and increasing work efficiency.

It also incorporates a restart protection device that prevents danger in the event of a sudden power cut-off. This makes it suitable for all cutting and grinding work on metal, tile or brick. The product is available in two versions—a bare-tool version supplying only the tool body, and a kit version—so operators can choose and purchase according to their needs. The kit includes a Bosch L-Boxx, two 18V 5.0Ah batteries, and a charger (GAL 1880 CV).
