BLACK+DECKER, the leading brand for household tools and lifestyle appliances from Stanley Black & Decker Korea (CEO Hong Sung-wan), the world's largest tool company, has unveiled 'reviva™', an eco-friendly power tool lineup designed and manufactured by recycling single-use plastic bottles—a first for the brand and part of the company's commitment to sustainability.

BLACK+DECKER's 'reviva' power tools are eco-friendly products for DIY users, notable for recycling single-use plastic bottles to make up to 50% of the housing from Tritan™ Renew, a certified eco-friendly recycled material from Eastman. In this way, discarded single-use plastic bottles are reborn as easy-to-use household power tools, taking a step further toward the sustainable goals that are part of the company's social responsibility.

The newly launched reviva lineup comprises a total of five products: ▲12V MAX Cordless Drill Driver (REVDD12C) ▲12V MAX Cordless Hammer Drill (REVHD12C) ▲12V MAX Cordless Multi-Cutter (REVOS12C) ▲12V MAX Cordless Sander (REVDS12C) ▲12V MAX Cordless Jigsaw (REVJ12C). They are supplied to consumers in 100% recyclable packaging.

The new reviva products are very convenient for home use thanks to their compact size and light weight. Their size fits comfortably even in smaller hands, and their light weight of around 1 kg minimizes strain on the wrist. In addition, they can be charged easily by connecting the charger to the charging terminal on the main body.

The '12V MAX Cordless Drill Driver (REVDD12C)', made by recycling 8 plastic bottles, delivers a maximum torque of 26 Nm and a fast 550 rpm rotation speed, enabling high-quality work on a variety of base materials such as wood and steel. The '12V MAX Cordless Hammer Drill (REVHD12C)' is made from the same number of plastic bottles, offering powerful performance with a maximum torque of 40 Nm and a maximum rotation speed of 1,350 rpm for work on wood, steel, and stone, and its built-in LED work light allows use even in dark environments. In particular, both products include power and speed control functions for precise work.

The '12V MAX Cordless Multi-Cutter (REVOS12C)' is made by recycling 12 plastic bottles. Its strengths are that the blade can be replaced quickly without any separate tools and that it is compatible with DEWALT blades. In addition, essential accessories for versatile use—such as plunge cutting, wood and nail cutting, sanding, and flooring removal—are included as standard. Its ergonomic design allows safe operation in any position, and its slim design makes it highly useful even in tight spaces.

The '12V MAX Cordless Sander (REVDS12C)', made from 11 plastic bottles, also delivers perfect results even on rough-surfaced wood with the excellent power of 12V MAX and a fast speed of 11,000 opm. It enables detailed sanding of hard-to-reach narrow gaps, tight spaces, and edges, and it enhances user satisfaction by minimizing vibration during work and providing a grip designed for stable operation.

The '12V MAX Cordless Jigsaw (REVJ12C)' is made from 18 plastic bottles and offers both rapid work and powerful performance with a stroke rate of 2,800 spm. Its maximum cutting depth is 52 mm in wood, 5 mm in steel, and 17 mm in aluminum, allowing work on a variety of base materials. It is designed so that the blade can be replaced quickly by lifting the blade-lock lever with a single touch.

Meanwhile, the BLACK+DECKER reviva lineup won a Red Dot Design Award in 2022 for its new design approach of designing and manufacturing with environmentally friendly materials. Hong Sung-wan, CEO of Stanley Black & Decker Korea, said, "Through the production of the reviva lineup, BLACK+DECKER plans to convert more than ten million single-use plastic bottles discarded in the ocean and landfills into products over the next three years," adding, "We will continue to strive to introduce eco-friendly features and products that help make and keep our planet healthier."
