Aqara Life (co-CEOs Kim Hyun-chul and Lee Sang-heon) announced the launch of its 'Smart Home Design Verification Service,' which prevents design and construction errors during the smart home installation process.
With the recent rise in demand for apartment remodeling, more homeowners are seeking to apply IoT (Internet of Things) features even in existing, older apartments. In response, Aqara Life launched a service that provides expert verification at the initial blueprint stage, helping to prevent the inconveniences that arise during smart home installation and making it easier to adopt smart home interiors. The company explained, "The Smart Home Design Verification Service covers everything from recommending the products needed to implement automation, to inspecting device placement based on the blueprints prepared by the construction manager, and advising on installation considerations before products are installed," adding, "Even for the same specifications, it reduces unnecessary costs and construction to deliver optimized results."
The Smart Home Design Verification Service consists of a nine-step process. First, a Smart Home Bible document is provided, and customer requirements are identified through a preliminary survey. Experts then review the feasibility of the scenarios and recommend the optimal products for each space. Once the inspection of device installation locations based on the blueprints is complete, considerations regarding electrical wiring, communications, and cabling are provided. Next, a quote for the finalized products is delivered, and finally, the work order is comprehensively reviewed. Notably, if the scenario feasibility review finds that the client's desired functions cannot be implemented, a refund for the service is also available.
Through step-by-step verification, Aqara Life plans to clearly organize the smart home design process—which had felt complex—and to minimize the risks and schedule delays that can occur at construction sites, providing practical benefits to both consumers and contractors.
