Aqara Life (led by CEOs Kim Hyun-chul and Lee Sang-heon) has launched the 'Smart LED Bulb T2 (Smart Bulb),' an easy-install lighting product for smart home beginners.
The 'Smart Bulb' lets users take advantage of the key features of smart lighting simply by screwing it into an existing lamp or indirect-lighting socket. A notable feature is its support for three wireless communication protocols—Thread, Zigbee, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)—allowing it to link with other companies' devices and platforms. According to the company, the new product delivers brightness of up to 1,100 lumens and, as a high color-rendering light with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 90 or higher, accurately reproduces the true colors of objects. It is also equipped with all the core features needed in a smart home, including fade-in/out, a timer, app control, and situation-based automation settings. In addition, the new 'Smart Bulb' comes in an RGB CCT (multi-color adjustment) type and a CCT (color temperature adjustment) type, so it can be used according to the intended purpose.
A company official said, "The RGB CCT type supports up to 16 million color changes and ultra-wideband color temperature adjustment (2000K–9000K), making it possible to set a mood with a single light," adding, "The CCT type provides color temperature adjustment optimized for everyday life."
Another advantage is that the 'Smart Bulb' supports the Matter standard, making it compatible with a wide range of platforms including Aqara Home, Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa.
