KSW, a company specializing in wallpaper manufacturing, announced that it has completed the development of a new-concept adhesive wallpaper and is preparing to launch the product in February next year.

KSW filed a patent application for its adhesive wallpaper technology incorporating the new technology in 2019, and completed registration on September 30, 2021.

It has been reported that the company is currently producing and testing sample products of the adhesive wallpaper featuring this new technology. As wallpaper installation costs have risen recently due to increasing labor costs, a growing number of young people are attempting self-installation of wallpaper. In response, related companies have been releasing self-adhesive wallpaper with adhesive on the back, but such adhesive wallpaper has the drawback that it sticks to the wall too easily during installation, making the work difficult. In addition, problems such as sagging or wrinkling may occur over time. Wallpaper installation is usually carried out by professional installers because the process is demanding, and cutting the wallpaper and applying paste to the back of the wallpaper are classified as difficult tasks.

According to KSW, the 'adhesive wallpaper' unveiled this time allows the base paper to contain sufficient moisture, thereby preventing subsequent moisture absorption and solving problems such as wrinkling after installation. Park Sik-soon, Chairman of KSW, said, "We hope that this new adhesive wallpaper technology, which provides the individualistic younger generation with the new adhesive wallpaper they demand, will spark a new boom in the wallpaper industry."

Meanwhile, KSW is emerging as a powerhouse in the wallpaper industry, having acquired KS Wallpaper, Jeil Wallpaper, and Cosmos Wallpaper. 031-642-6111
