Uniquely shaped, sophisticated design enhances the aesthetic appeal of any space
Shinsegae Casa announced that since launching its pet furniture series 'Mons' this past August, sales have been growing 85% every month—reflecting the rise of "pet family" households who treat their dogs, cats, and other companion animals like their own children and spare no expense on them, along with the accompanying growth of the pet market.
Shinsegae Casa's pet furniture series 'Mons' offers a comfortable space for both people and their companion animals through functional design that takes into account the habits and living patterns of pets sharing the home, while its uniquely shaped, sophisticated design also elevates the aesthetic appeal of the space.
Mons is characterized by its differentiation in detailed functions, design, and materials, with the goal of being "pet furniture that satisfies both people and companion animals." In particular, its design blends well with the furniture people use without disrupting the interior, and its quality materials—such as solid wood and functional fabrics typically used in premium furniture—have been drawing a positive response from consumers. The variety of details and features that consider the habits of pets living in the home and the convenience of maintenance are also factors in its popularity. Mons was introduced in the form of ▲a modular sofa ▲five types of cat furniture ▲a pet cushion, and among these, the 'modular sofa' and 'cat tower' are the most popular products.
The 'Mons Sofa' is designed to be low in height so that pets and people can sit together and so animals can move around easily, with a wide backrest and armrests. It can also be combined into any size and shape the user wants using six modular units, and it is easy to maintain and care for thanks to SIC's functional fabric, which offers water and stain repellency along with excellent antibacterial and deodorizing properties. In addition, a key strength of the 'Mons Sofa' is its tightly woven texture and its Grade 4 snag resistance—an indicator of resistance to scratching—which reduces the risk of pets getting their claws caught and injuring themselves or damaging the sofa. Alongside the 'Pet Stepper' (a staircase-shaped piece of pet furniture) that helps pets easily climb up and down the sofa, and the 'Pet Cushion,' Shinsegae Casa also introduced 'Corner,' 'Open Couch,' and 'Armless' variants.
Shinsegae Casa also expanded its pet furniture portfolio by launching 'five types of cat furniture' for cats. The cat furniture lineup consists of two types of 'Cat Tower,' which consider cats' habit of feeling secure in high places, and a 'Climber' that allows cats—who love vertical movement—to safely climb upward. It also introduced a 'Tea Table' and a 'Side Table,' each with a dedicated space for cats on one side so that a cat can stay nearby while its owner uses the table. The 'Cat Tower' stands out for its simple form, refined colors, and design in solid ash wood; all four sides are rounded, and its adjustable height allows for safe, convenient use. It is also fitted with a 'Scratcher' made from natural materials. The scratcher and cushion are detachable, making them easy to wash and replace, and a multi-purpose hook is installed for conveniently hanging cat toys or securing the sisal rope that serves as a scratcher.
A Shinsegae Casa official said, "Actively reflecting the needs of customers who don't want to compromise on aesthetics when decorating a space they share with their pets has led to a positive response," adding, "Based on Shinsegae Casa's own differentiated premium design and quality, we will actively expand our presence in the pet-terior market." 1566-0228
