Aqara Life (CEO Kim Hyun-cheol), a company specializing in home IoT, has launched the 'Smart Door Lock K100' (hereinafter K100), a product that can revolutionize the daily lives of smart home users.
The K100 is the first product in Korea to integrate with Apple Home, and its defining feature is that doors can be unlocked with an iPhone or Apple Watch using the Home key registered in Apple Wallet. Its biggest differentiator from other door locks is that it can integrate with a wide range of IoT devices to build personalized automation for each user. The moment a user unlocks the door and steps into the home, the most comfortable environment can be set up for them—for example, adjusting lighting brightness, optimizing heating and cooling, and opening or closing shades, delivering an experience in which the home adapts to the user. In addition, automation can be configured per fingerprint, making it possible to create a smart home that satisfies every member of the family. Compatibility with a variety of smart home ecosystems is another feature unique to the K100. Beyond the Aqara Home app, it supports remote control and automation via Apple HomeKit as well as voice commands via Siri, allowing users to manage the locking and unlocking of their front door anytime, anywhere. It can also integrate with the Google Home platform. In addition, it offers a total of 11 different ways to unlock the door—including fingerprint, password, NFC, Apple HomeKit and Home key, temporary password, voice command, and wall pad integration—so that every user can find the method that suits them best. In particular, its push-pull structure combined with the 'fingerprint module' that global Aqara takes pride in delivers an experience in which the door opens with a response time of less than 0.5 seconds the moment the handle is grasped. On top of this, it is equipped with the safety features a door lock should have, such as electric shock protection, alarm notifications in the event of an external tampering attempt, and high-temperature detection, so it can be used with peace of mind.
Kim Hyun-cheol, CEO of Aqara Life, said, "The K100 is a gateway to the smart home that is clearly differentiated from conventional door locks, delivering an experience in which everything is set up automatically from the moment a user enters the home," and expressed confidence, adding, "By integrating security and convenience into a single solution, it will enrich the smart home environment even further."
Meanwhile, this past September, Aqara Life changed its corporate name from Aqara Korea to Aqara Life under the vision of 'making customers' lives safer, healthier, and more comfortable through AIoT technology.' Furthermore, beginning with the launch of the 'Smart Door Lock K100,' the company plans to strengthen its leadership in the smart home industry and provide a range of services that will bring innovation to users' lives. 02-6949-2662
