Founded in 2014, Urbanbase is a spatial data company. It holds patented technology that automatically converts 2D floor plans into 3D spaces, as well as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. The newly unveiled all-in-one interior platform ‘Urbanbase’ is an integrated interior service that brings together years of accumulated technology and B2B service operations expertise, offering a seamless experience that connects home simulation all the way through to construction. It can be used right away by simply searching for ‘Urbanbase’ on a portal site, with no separate download or installation required. The platform is divided into two functions: ‘3D Studio,’ where users can decorate their desired space in advance, and ‘Interior Consultation,’ which connects users with construction professionals who can bring the designed space to life.
In ‘3D Studio,’ users can decorate their home using a 3D floor plan of their own home and preview how it will look after the interior work is done. A 3D floor plan can be loaded in just a few seconds by searching for the apartment address on a map, and if no floor plan is available, users can also create and use their own 3D floor plan by entering measured dimensions. Once the virtual space is created, 3D styling begins. Users can decorate their home using all kinds of furniture, home appliances, and finishing materials available on the market, and the custom function allows them to freely adjust product specifications and colors for simulation. In addition, an AR function is provided for certain products. When users find a product they like during the 3D styling process, they can scan the AR QR code to place it in their actual space and check how well the product fits the space.
