Ohou has launched its ‘Construction Materials Ranking’ service. According to Ohou, the ‘Construction Materials Ranking’ service lets users see at a glance information on construction materials used in interior design—such as flooring, vinyl sheet flooring, tile, and wallpaper—and check everything from installation prices to real-life styling.

Until now, customers doing interior work when buying a new home or moving have had a hard time obtaining information on construction materials such as flooring, wallpaper, and tile. This is because, in many cases, only interior design companies knew the material information. Due to this information asymmetry, customers had to choose from the sample books and catalog samples of the few materials recommended by a company, or go to the trouble of finding photos of previous installation cases and asking on online communities what materials had been used. Even when they received recommendations online, it was difficult to tell whether the price was reasonable without shopping around one by one.

To resolve this information imbalance in the construction materials market and allow customers to easily and conveniently check information on construction materials they are curious about, such as flooring and wallpaper, Ohou has introduced the ‘Construction Materials Ranking’ service. The ‘Construction Materials Ranking’ service compiles around 600 popular products across a total of 7 categories commonly used in interior construction—flooring, vinyl sheet flooring, tile, wallpaper, faucets, switches, outlets, and lighting—and assigns popularity rankings so they can be viewed at a glance. This is set to expand to around 1,000 products within this month.

Customers can browse the materials that other customers actually chose most often, in order from number one, and gather and compare the trendiest materials all at once. The construction materials ranking is based on data from more than 73,000 styling shots that customers actually uploaded as photos after selecting the materials in question. In addition, each construction material’s detail page provides not only detailed information such as the material’s size and color and its price per pyeong, but also styling shots of homes that used the material and related home tours, giving customers content they can use as installation references—all at a glance. Customers can compare countless styling shots of the material installed in homes with the same size, layout, or ambiance as their own, easing their concerns about interior construction. Ohou has also created a way to use scrapped material information pages in actual interior construction consultations. As customers explore materials they like, they can, when needed, scrap a product using the ‘Add to My Materials List’ button, then share their materials page all at once when consulting with an interior design company to use as reference material for the consultation—and they can also arrange installation consultations for those materials with Ohou’s guaranteed-service companies.

Through the ‘Construction Materials Ranking’ service, Ohou customers can do more than just check materials such as wallpaper and flooring; by applying Ohou’s artificial intelligence (AI) recommendation logic, they can also discover products such as sofas and tables that match the styling shots using those materials.

An Ohou official said, “Ohou had accumulated a wealth of installation cases and material information from countless customers, and based on this we launched the ‘Construction Materials Ranking’ service, which lets customers compare and choose at a glance the construction materials they had always been curious about,” adding, “Going forward, customers will be able to find interior design companies with confidence on Ohou and, based on the materials they want, handle everything from consultation to installation all in one place.”1670-0876
