KCC (CEO Chung Mong-jin) has recently unveiled the 'KCC Color Bank Vol.06,' which reflects the color trends favored across Korean society, including its culture, industry, and architectural environment.
The rich color spectrum of 'Color Bank Vol.06,' comprising a total of 1,249 colors, is characterized by a user-friendly layout that makes it easy for general consumers and dealers to find the colors they want. In particular, it applies Color Universal Design (CUD), which emphasizes safe color combinations, highlighting design colors that also take safety into account.
Produced for the sixth time this year since 1995, 'Color Bank Vol.06' provides efficient color information by classifying colors into nine systematically organized groups based on HUE and TONE. To enhance user convenience, information such as reference Munsell values, index codes, and base notations has been added, and a variety of information—including trend data for the nine color families and recommended color combinations—can be easily accessed by scanning QR codes. In addition, this 'KCC Color Bank Vol.6' stands out for its Color Universal Design safety color combinations, which are designed so that everyone can easily recognize the safety signage that increasingly uses a variety of colors in the interior design of public spaces. The KCC Color Design Center analyzed the current state of safety signage color combinations in the underground parking lots of apartment complexes completed within the past three years and surveyed people with diverse types of color vision to devise the CUD safety color combinations.
A KCC official said, "The KCC Color & Design Center is devoting its full efforts to foundational research for color marketing by analyzing the latest color trends and big data across the industry," adding, "Through the KCC Color Bank Vol.06 produced this time, we will not only help customers and professionals conveniently select colors but also provide color information that takes into account people with diverse types of color vision."
