Top-Tier Insulation Performance Achieved Through Integration with Super Vacuum Glazing Technology

The era has arrived in which windows, like fashion, can be changed whenever you want. In line with this, E-GEON Window & Door, Korea’s leading system window and door company, has launched ‘E-VIEW,’ a new-concept system window that lets you swap the window design as you please.

E-GEON Window & Door’s ‘E-VIEW’ is a product that, once installed, allows the design of the window frame to be easily changed at any time according to the consumer’s needs or wishes. It can be matched in a total of 41 diverse combinations spanning not only the window material but also its texture and color, enabling free design transitions that let you change your interior to suit the mood of the space. Through the smart connecting system that E-GEON Window & Door developed as a first in Korea, the company has realized a technology that lets you simply and freshly replace the frame design without removing the window.

There are two broad material types to choose from: △the Wood type, whose distinctive warmth arising from the grain of the wood gives the home a calm atmosphere, and △the high-durability Color Plate type, which carefully selects 12 of the most preferred colors and textures of recent times. In the case of the Wood type, you can also choose the corner design among △‘Arc,’ whose sides are finished in a rounded form for a soft feel, △‘Edge,’ whose diagonal frame draws the gaze toward the interior of the window to emphasize a sense of depth and volume, and △‘Step,’ which finishes the corners vertically to emphasize simplicity. It also broadens the range of choice by offering three wood species in colors such as oak, teak, and walnut.

Above all, because the ‘E-VIEW’ series can be installed by replacing the surface of the window, construction is easier than removing the existing window. It offers a higher level of finish than a wrapping method that applies a design film or a painting method, giving it a premium look, and it makes repairs easy for misalignment or warping caused by the aging of the window or wood material. During indoor interior work, the cover option can be installed after the construction of other materials is complete, which can also prevent the scratches on the window surface that are a concern during construction.

In addition, when the ‘E-VIEW’ series’ Turn&Tilt window ‘EV 75 TT’ is combined with ‘SUPER Vacuum Glazing,’ which E-GEON Window & Door developed independently, it can achieve a thermal transmittance (U-value) of 0.77 W/m²K — the world’s highest level of insulation performance for an aluminum window. This is a 46.2% improvement in insulation performance compared with combining a conventional wood-composite window with Super Vacuum Glazing, made possible because the ‘E-VIEW’ series combines with new materials and applies a multi-chamber structure within the frame to lower thermal conductivity.

E-GEON Window & Door’s ‘Super Vacuum Glazing’ is insulating glass in which the vacuum layer formed between the panes fundamentally blocks heat transfer by convection. As the world’s first in the field of vacuum glazing to obtain the ‘Passive House Certification’ from the German Passive House Institute, its innovative technological prowess has been recognized worldwide. The insulation effect of ‘Super Vacuum Glazing’ (0.36 W/m²K) is more than four times superior to that of Low-E double glazing (1.76 W/m²K), the insulating glass used in ordinary apartment windows. Despite a thin glass thickness of 27.3 mm, it achieves a thermal transmittance comparable to that of a 26 cm-thick concrete wall, helping to reduce heating and cooling costs. Applying ‘Super Vacuum Glazing’ to a 30–40 pyeong apartment can reduce energy consumption by about 42% (approximately 8,149 kWh) compared with ordinary glass (22 mm) and save around 680,000 won a year in electricity bills.
