IMSAK Co., Ltd., a company specializing in cordless power tools, has launched three new products in its 18V BLDC 7 Series lineup, drawing on its own proprietary technology to reflect the diversification of worksites and the wide-ranging needs of users.
▲The 18V BLDC Impact Driver (BL18M706) is characterized by its ‘powerful output performance.’ The product delivers 3,400 rpm and 210 N·m of output and features a 600 W-class high-performance BLDC motor, securing far stronger output performance than the previous first-generation model (BL18M605). The battery capacity has also been increased from 5.0 Ah to 6.0 Ah, boosting the amount of work that can be done on a single charge, and an output-compensation electronic module ensures that output does not drop even as the battery runs down.
In addition, the 18V BLDC Impact Driver (BL18M706) applies a 5-stage drive control mode to provide optimal usability across a variety of work environments. Users can select stage 1 (1,200 rpm) for light-load work, stage 2 (2,800 rpm) for medium-load work, stage 3 (3,400 rpm) for heavy-load work, as well as Auto Mode A and Auto Mode B.
Auto Mode A (Auto Screw) is designed so that when high rpm makes it difficult to catch the bit-fastening point due to the fast rotation speed, or to prevent thread stripping during high-speed fastening, it fastens at low speed first and then automatically shifts to high speed once a load is applied. (Prevents screw slip-off, ensures accurate positioning, and prevents damage to the screw head.) Auto Mode B (Auto Chassis) works in the opposite way from Auto Mode A: to prevent damage to the base material (the fastening area of the workpiece) caused by the fast rotation speed at high rpm, it fastens at high speed first and then automatically shifts to low speed once a load is applied, protecting the base material as it completes the work.
The 18V BLDC Impact Driver (BL18M706) also addresses common problems that occur during bit fastening. Due to the nature of bit fastening (1/4" hex), many impact drivers experience wobble. Wobble is a phenomenon in which the tip of the bit shakes in a large circular motion during work, making bit fastening difficult or work cumbersome. IMSAK applies a Two Ball Bearing system to minimize rotational shaking of the bit, improving the precision of screw fastening. The product achieves high-efficiency impact torque optimization with a fastening speed 30% faster (3,400 rpm), a fastening torque 15% stronger (215 N·m), and work efficiency increased by 30% (output-compensation electronic module) compared with the previous first-generation model.
Beyond this, the 18V BLDC Impact Driver (BL18M706) maximizes durability through an optimized load-impact cycle, a motor & switch module system with vibration resistance secured for harsh cold environments, and an optimized ventilation structure that manages motor temperature during extended use. Furthermore, because the weight of a power tool is a highly sensitive matter for workers who use it all day long, the weight has been reduced by approximately 8% compared with the previous first-generation model and the overall length shortened to 124.8 mm, delivering an optimized weight balance that reduces the fatigue that arises during prolonged use.
▲The 18V BLDC Impact Driver/Wrench (BL18X705), unlike the Impact Driver (BL18M706), can be used with both a driver bit (6.35 mm, 1/4" hex) and a wrench socket (12.7 mm, 1/2" square). Because a hex bit and a wrench socket can be used together, it offers high versatility for a wider range of work. Its basic specifications are equivalent to those of the 18V BLDC Impact Driver (BL18M706). The product delivers 3,100 rpm and 210 N·m of output and features a 600 W-class high-performance BLDC motor, providing stronger output performance than the previous first-generation model (BL18X205).
▲The 18V BLDC Impact Wrench (BL18Q706) delivers 2,700 rpm and 310 N·m of output, features a 600 W-class high-performance BLDC motor, and is equipped with a high-capacity 6.0 Ah battery. The socket-retaining section improves multi-socket holding force with C-ring, Ball, and Hole types, securing socket holding power across various work environments to ensure convenience and stability at work.
The Impact Wrench applies a 4-stage drive control mode, allowing users to select the mode best suited to various work environments: stage 1 (1,000 rpm) for light-load work, stage 2 (2,000 rpm) for medium-load work, stage 3 (2,700 rpm) for heavy-load work, and Auto Mode A. In particular, Auto Mode A (Auto Stop) loosens tightened nuts at maximum speed during nut-loosening tasks such as scaffolding work and maintenance work, and when loosening is complete, the Auto-Stop mode activates and automatically stops within 2 seconds to prevent accidental drops. (Prevents nut slip-off, for convenient workability.)
