Bosch Power Tools Division (Division Head Park Jin-hong) has launched its high-end professional green laser distance measuring tools, the ‘GLM 50-23 G Professional’ and the ‘GLM 50-27 CG Professional.’
The two new products maximize durability in a palm-sized, pocket-friendly form, enabling top-quality measurement work even in harsh environments. Both products meet the IP 65 dust- and water-resistance rating, tailored to professional work environments that are easily exposed to dust and water. The body is designed with an ABS housing and a rugged design, and the ‘GLM 50-27 CG’ can withstand drop impacts from a height of up to 1.5m.
In addition, the new products can perform two tasks: distance measurement via green laser projection, and tilt-angle measurement using a tilt sensor. Green laser technology offers higher visibility than conventional red lasers and enables distance measurement of up to 50m, making it even more efficient. This makes it highly useful across a wide range of fields, including construction/interior work, electrical work, and woodworking.
On top of this, an intuitive user interface has been applied, greatly improving product operation and measurement convenience. The new products include intuitive help instructions for the measuring functions to support systematic work, and offer two modes that enhance readability depending on the user. Tape-measure mode displays measurements in the form of a traditional analog tape measure instead of digital figures, enabling visual measurement, while selecting large-font mode improves the readability of the figures, which is useful for continuous measurement. In the case of the ‘GLM 50-23 G Professional,’ a favorites button on the keypad lets the user instantly switch to their preferred measuring mode.
Furthermore, the ‘GLM 50-27 CG’ is equipped with additional convenience features for even more efficient measurement work. The product links with a smartphone via connectivity (Bluetooth) functionality and is compatible with Bosch’s dedicated measuring app, ‘MeasureON.’ The ‘MeasureON’ app creates floor plans for each workspace and instantly documents the data measured with the laser measuring tool. Photos and notes can be added separately to this work, and via a digital cloud method it can be viewed and edited identically on a PC as well. In addition, vibration mode allows the user to confirm whether a measurement was successful through vibration at noisy worksites.
