The Bosch Power Tools division (Division Head Park Jin-hong) has launched the professional point laser measuring tools 'GPL 3 G' and 'GPL 5 G', which offer enhanced durability and convenience.
These two new products are characterized by being compact yet highly durable. To meet the needs of professional worksites that are easily exposed to dust and water, both models satisfy the IP 65 dust- and water-resistance rating. In particular, the 'GPL 5 G' enhances the durability of the existing professional laser measuring tool 'GPL 5', improving its dust- and water-resistance rating from the previous IP 54 to IP 65. The first and second digits of an IP rating indicate the level of dust resistance and water resistance, respectively, and dust resistance level 6 is the highest grade, completely blocking the ingress of external dust. In addition, the body is made of shock-absorbing rubber with air cushioning, giving it the advantage of being resistant to external impacts.
The new products feature a green laser point with up to 4 times greater visibility than the conventional red one, allowing it to be clearly seen even at distances of up to 30 m. The 'GPL 5 G' projects lasers in five directions—up, down, left, right, and front—while the 'GPL 3 G' projects lasers in three directions—up, down, and front—with high accuracy. This improves work efficiency for tasks such as vertical measurement from floor to ceiling and the alignment of steel studs and door and window frames. The 'GPL 5 G' also excels at right-angle measurement work.
In addition, the new products offer improved ease of use. The product body features an integrated mount that can rotate 360 degrees horizontally, making it convenient to adjust the laser direction. The back of the mount has a strong magnet that firmly attaches to steel walls, and the base is likewise fitted with a rubber pad so it can be placed stably on the floor. Furthermore, the size of the human-machine interface (HMI) has been increased and the grip section improved, enabling intuitive use of the tool. In addition, the power switch can be operated with one touch, and the battery compartment can be opened with a finger.
