With the COVID-19 pandemic expected to keep people staying home for an extended period, interest in high-efficiency electrical and electronic products that can reduce household energy costs is growing even further. In response, global lighting company LEDVANCE is introducing LED lighting that helps cut electricity bills and sharing tips on how to use it.
To begin with, LED lighting consumes 50% less power than fluorescent lighting. To save energy, it is recommended to start by switching to LED lighting in shared family spaces such as the living room and kitchen, where lights tend to be left on a lot. LEDVANCE's 'OSRAM Dulux L LED' is an LED lamp that lets you simply remove the existing twin-tube fluorescent lamp and plug it in for immediate use, without replacing the ballast or fixture. It comes in two power ratings, 25W and 18W. It consumes up to 50% less energy than a compact fluorescent lamp, and with a lifespan of 30,000 hours it lasts three times longer. In addition, when working from home or attending remote classes, switching to lighting whose brightness and color temperature can be easily adjusted saves energy while also boosting concentration. LEDVANCE's 'color-tunable, dimmable LED ceiling light' is a ceiling fixture well suited to the master bedroom, small rooms, and the study. Using the remote control, you can adjust the brightness (10–100%) and color temperature (3000–6500K) to fit your environment. You can also switch to preset color temperatures (warm white, cool white, natural white) using the remote's quick buttons. A high-diffusion lens delivers even light distribution across all areas, providing uniform, eye-friendly illumination. It consumes more than 50% less energy than fluorescent lighting and has a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours.
If you want to adjust the light in your home without replacing your existing ceiling fixtures, you can use smart lighting as indirect lighting. Fitting a smart lamp into a table lamp or floor stand lets you create a variety of moods while also enabling efficient energy management. LEDVANCE's 'SMART+ Classic' LED smart lamp supports Bluetooth connectivity on both Android and Apple smart devices, and thanks to its built-in Bluetooth Mesh technology you can add as many lights as you want. Through the app you can control lights individually or in groups to save energy, and you can freely adjust not only turning lights on and off but also their color and brightness. It can produce 16 million colors, and the color temperature (2000–6500K) can be set to suit any situation.
A LEDVANCE representative said, "Lighting is a necessity of indoor living and one of the easiest items with which to save energy," adding, "When switching to LED lighting, the key thing consumers must know is that choosing lighting with the right wattage for their home prevents energy waste and avoids extra costs from breakdowns." 02-3420-3700
