Cheongho Nais, which introduced Korea's first untact (contactless) water purifier in June last year and has been receiving a favorable response from consumers, has launched two models of its mid-to-large-sized air purifier capable of powerfully cleaning even large spaces, the 'Cheongho Untact Air Purifier High Mountain' (standard coverage areas of 160㎡ and 108㎡).
Since mid-to-large-sized air purifiers are frequently used in multi-use facilities, the risk of indirect infection between strangers can increase. The new product operates via an infrared distance-detection sensor, so there is no need to touch the product; it can be operated simply by bringing a finger to within about 3㎝ of the untact buttons on the control panel at the top of the product. As a result, the advantage is that it can be used without worrying about infection through contact. Cheongho Nais applied untact buttons only to the six most commonly used functions (power, purification, air volume, air direction, lighting, and sterilization), while also allowing the product to be operated by pressing the buttons directly as before.
The 'Cheongho Untact Air Purifier High Mountain' is equipped with a dual-care system that provides not only air purification but also sterilization. In particular, the 160㎡ model features a carbon dioxide sensor that detects the indoor CO2 concentration and then indicates the current status through numerical values and colors.
In addition, the 'Cheongho Untact Air Purifier High Mountain' has obtained both CA certification (a mark granted to products that pass the collective standard specifications for air purifiers) and CA certification for its fine-dust sensor. It applies a laser-based PM1.0 sensor capable of detecting even ultra-fine dust (1.0㎛ or less) as well as a gas sensor, displaying indoor air quality through four stages of color change (Good–Moderate–Bad–Very Bad; Blue–Green–Yellow–Red).
A Cheongho Nais official said, "The Cheongho Untact Air Purifier High Mountain enables users to ventilate at the appropriate time, and having also obtained CA certification for school use (certified by the Korea Air Cleaning Association), it offers specifications optimized for use in schools," adding, "Amid growing concerns over contact infection following COVID-19, we will continue to expand our lineup of products utilizing our proprietary untact technology to usher in the era of touchless home appliances."
Meanwhile, the rental price of the new product, based on a 4-month inspection cycle and a 60-month contract period, is 52,900 won per month for the 160㎡ model and 50,900 won per month for the 108㎡ model. 1588-2290
