Cuckoo, a comprehensive home appliance company, announced that it will apply the ‘Total Care Safe Filter’ for air purifiers—featuring antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-mold functions—to its existing popular models, the W8200, T8700, and Brick air purifiers.

The first model to feature the ‘Total Care Antibacterial Safe Filter’ is the ‘T8700’ air purifier. The ‘T8700’ has obtained CA certification, which the Korea Air Cleaning Association awards to products that pass its standards for fine dust removal capability, harmful gas removal rate, ozone emissions, noise, and other criteria. Cuckoo plans to expand the application of the ‘Total Care Safe Filter’ to its major product lines, including the ‘Ultra 12000’, ‘W8200’, and ‘Brick’ air purifiers.

In particular, Cuckoo’s ‘Brick’ air purifier won a Winner award in the design category at the ‘Reddot Design Award 2022’—one of the world’s three most prestigious design awards—in March of last year. Cuckoo plans to add Grace Gray and Grace Pink color options to the ‘Brick’ air purifier, in addition to the existing Noble White color.

According to Cuckoo, the ‘Total Care Antibacterial Safe Filter’, which consists of a copper sulfide antibacterial filter and a deodorizing filter, captures and eliminates various fine dust particles, bacteria, and mold, and can also filter out invisible ultrafine and extra-fine dust. Testing by the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) showed that it offers the following effects: ▲99.9% virus suppression ▲inhibition of mold growth ▲removal of allergy-inducing substances ▲99% removal of ultrafine dust. It also removes the five major airborne harmful gases (formaldehyde, ammonia, acetaldehyde, acetic acid, and toluene).

Reflecting the market’s needs, where hygiene awareness has become even more stringent since COVID-19, and in order to provide customers with differentiated hygiene solutions, Cuckoo plans to apply and expand the ‘Total Care Antibacterial Safe Filter’ to its existing air purifier models, broadening the range of consumer choices.
