Nox Co., Ltd. (CEO Ko Dong-hwan) has launched Nox ‘LVT+GREEN’ and ‘LVS+GREEN,’ new sustainable flooring collections that convert the flooring’s main raw materials to carbon-reducing materials.
The products replace PVC—used in the highest proportion in flooring—with Bio-Circular Balanced PVC, made from discarded resources such as waste cooking oil and from plant-based materials. This raw material contributes to a 114% reduction in carbon. In addition, the plasticizer uses a phthalate-free material made from recycled PET water bottles. Both materials have obtained ISCC PLUS certification—the leading international certification system for sustainability and low-carbon products, compliant with the European Union (EU) Renewable Energy Directive and the most authoritative certification in the sustainability field—and Nox is the first in Korea to apply them to flooring. Furthermore, Nox has not only secured product sustainability through this raw-material conversion, but has also established a system for waste-free production, use, and recycling with products that are 100% easily recyclable through Nox’s own circular production system. These efforts by Nox were recognized at ‘TISE 2023,’ the world’s largest flooring exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA this past January, where the company achieved the remarkable feat of winning ‘Best of Surface,’ the top award in the sustainability category.
The new ‘LVT+GREEN’ products applying these carbon-reducing sustainable materials are Ecohome 2000, Orchid 3000, and Acoustic Setagrip. ▲Ecohome 2000 is flooring optimized for ondol (radiant floor) heating, and ▲Orchid 3000 is flooring for premium commercial spaces—a high-performance product with a 5-year quality warranty, the first and only of its kind in Korea. In particular, Orchid 3000 can be equipped with Nox’s Rustic Edge technology, applied to flooring for the first time, and the Built-In-Grout system, an LVT first. ▲Acoustic Setagrip is a globally patented technology that innovatively reduces installation time and cost, and boasts a 20-decibel noise-reduction function. In addition, ‘LVS+GREEN,’ Nox’s premium roll-sheet flooring, enhances functionality and stability and presents new designs.
Nox CEO Ko Dong-hwan said, “Nox has continuously innovated in flooring technology that is safe for nature and people even before sustainability became a key issue, and through the world’s only integrated circular production system, we produce only 100% recyclable flooring and realize zero waste.” He added, “Nox will redefine sustainability in the global LVT flooring market through the innovation of converting our main raw materials to carbon-reducing materials.” 02-520-7624
