Hyundai L&C has launched ‘Artium,’ a residential sheet flooring, in 2023. Positioned as a new brand serving as a mid-tier grade between the value-priced ‘Myeongga’ and the highly functional ‘Sorizium,’ ‘Artium’ is a sound-insulating floor featuring a high-elasticity cushion layer. The new product comes in 2.7㎜ and 3.2㎜ thicknesses, with 6 stone patterns and 10 wood patterns, broadening the range of choices.
The brand name of the new product ‘Artium’ is derived from the Latin word ‘Artium,’ meaning ‘art,’ reflecting the intention to embody the artistic value of Hyundai L&C. Accordingly, it is characterized by its strength in design. In particular, the unit pattern size—the basis on which a pattern repeats—has increased from the previous 1250㎜ to a maximum of 1800㎜, minimizing repetition and expanding the range of designs that can be realized. In addition, a variety of wide-format designs have been newly introduced this time. The stone patterns feature 450×900㎜ big tiles, while the wood patterns recreate the feel of solid wood flooring up to 163㎜ wide. Both patterns boast the largest size among Hyundai L&C sheet flooring products, giving customers more options. Furthermore, EIR (Emboss In Register) technology, which aligns the pattern with the surface texture, has been applied to all ‘Artium’ products, expressing the beauty of natural materials more realistically through a distinctive three-dimensional synchronized emboss. Six types of edge designs, which express the seams, have also been introduced, with the most fitting style adopted for each pattern to enhance the sense of realism.
As customers who want both the luxurious atmosphere of marble and the functionality of sheet flooring have recently increased, the new product ‘Artium’ places particular emphasis on differentiated stone designs. Among them, ‘French Stone’ is a product that conveys a soft flow along with the inherent texture of stone, harmonizing beautifully with beige and gray-toned furniture. For those who want a minimal and clean white, ‘Verso Marble’ is recommended. Veins extending freely against a pure white background create the beauty of a space. ‘Monde Stone’ adds a subtle pearl to a beige tone, producing a special sense of luxury that is refined without being excessive. For wood patterns, the 163㎜ wide-format pattern unique to ‘Artium’ is recommended. The bright-colored ‘Claire Oak’ gives the effect of making a space look more spacious, while allowing you to feel the soft texture of the oak species. ‘Bordeaux Wood’ can create a cozy space where warmth lingers, and ‘Brandy Wood’ adds depth to a space with its deep wood tone and vintage oak pattern, making it ideal for natural styling.
‘Artium’ excels not only in design but also in function. Living noise is reduced by 20dB compared to the 78dB of impact noise on a bare floor, and its high slip resistance makes it safe to use even in homes with the elderly or children. In particular, it is a product optimized for households with pets—its few gaps prevent seepage even in the event of toileting accidents, and its shock absorption and anti-slip effects can also help prevent patellar luxation.
In addition, ‘Artium’ is an eco-friendly product that has earned the Environmental Label certification from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and the Atopy Safe Mark from the Korea Atopy Association. It is safe with no detection of any of the four major heavy metals or phthalate plasticizers, and it also features antibacterial functions against Staphylococcus aureus and pneumonia bacteria, so it can be used with peace of mind. 080-729-8272
