Steel-sheet materials, prized for their strong durability and modern design, have now been combined with technical expertise and design to allow more convenient application to buildings. Samil INC has improved on the previously cumbersome steel installation method and launched 'S-Board' and the 'S-LOOK SYSTEM,' featuring a variety of surface designs. In doing so, the company is contributing to the advancement of building culture and raising consumer satisfaction with installation methods that cut costs.
'S-Board,' a Steel-Sheet Material That Replaces Tile and Marble
'S-Board' is a steel-sheet interior building material that replaces tile, stone, marble and the like. Its advantage lies in easy installation, which delivers outstanding cost savings compared with conventional finishing materials. S-Board is an interior board made by wrapping hot-dip galvanized steel sheet over gypsum board all the way to the edges. It can be installed easily using adhesive for gypsum board, and because no grouting is required after finishing the wall surface, costs can be reduced. It can be applied to both wet and dry walls in bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms and more. By reproducing a variety of pattern designs such as marble, metal and wood on the steel-sheet surface, it lets you create a luxurious interior space at a reasonable price—reducing the cost of installing expensive marble or metal materials by up to about half.
In addition, because S-Board uses a steel-sheet material, it offers strong durability and semi-non-combustible fire resistance. It has functions that prevent mold and bacteria caused by moisture, and it offers higher stain resistance than conventional finishing materials. The standard sizes are 300×300 mm (planned), 450×900 mm and 900×1800 mm, with thicknesses of 0.5 to 1.2 mm. Samil INC offers pattern designs including marble, tile, wood, paint and metal, and beyond stocked items it carries out color and design work on a made-to-order basis.
Away with Monotonous Colors in Exterior Materials! The 'S-LOOK SYSTEM'
The 'S-LOOK SYSTEM' makes exterior-material application using the conventional flat-lock method simple to install while achieving improved waterproofing performance and airtightness. The flat-lock method is a tile-style seaming that connects continuous panels in the installation of exterior materials such as zinc or steel sheet. It allows the diverse expressions an architect intends and is highly suited to curved installations. However, it has the drawback of relatively inferior waterproofing compared with other installation methods, so it is not recommended for slopes or areas with a gradient of 40% or more. The S-LOOK SYSTEM is distinguished by enhanced airtightness and maximized leak-prevention—achieving higher waterproofing performance and airtightness—through a differentiated seam-bending technology at the bottom of the panels. With its simple installability, in which panels are joined and then secured with flat clips, the S-LOOK SYSTEM can shorten the construction period and minimize additional costs. Owing to the characteristics of its metal material, its strong durability and light weight can extend the life of the building. In particular, it comes in a variety of surface colors, so it offers the advantage of breaking away from conventional monotonous color combinations to enable rich and varied exterior expression. Product sizes are 300×600 mm, 300×900 mm, 300×1200 mm, 400×600 mm, 400×900 mm, 400×1200 mm, 500×600 mm, 500×900 mm and 500×1200 mm. For thickness, the 'Pos-MAC' steel sheet developed and produced by POSCO is 0.5T, and fluororesin-coated aluminum is 0.7T.
Meanwhile, Samil INC, which began as Samil Geonup in 2002, has grown with asphalt shingles, cement siding and louvers as its main products. In 2014 it relocated its headquarters to Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, where it established a large-scale distribution warehouse and metal-processing plant on a 6,610 ㎡ (2,000-pyeong) site. Samil INC secured its competitiveness by signing on as a dealer of 'Pos-MAC,' developed and produced by POSCO, and by supplying roofing materials, gutters, roof projections and more that can respond quickly to market demand through its processing plant. 031-797-6608
