Hansol HomeDeco has launched ‘Story Film,’ an interior film brand that dissolves the boundaries of a space with matching colors and patterns while emphasizing continuity and expandability. Story Film is distinguished by applying the same colors and textures as Hansol HomeDeco’s ‘Story Board,’ which is used for furniture. Story Board is a furniture material made by bonding eco-friendly surface materials such as PET and PP onto dedicated MDF (SE0, E0) produced in-house by Hansol HomeDeco, and it is used for the doors and bodies of furniture. With the launch of Story Film, Hansol HomeDeco now has a product lineup that can connect every surface surrounding a space—that is, furniture and walls—into a single pattern to create a unified interior. In particular, while conventional interior films mainly use PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material, Hansol Story Film uses PP, a material used in food packaging, as its main raw material. In addition, it applies an anti-fingerprint function that was previously only possible on furniture materials, so it is less prone to soiling and blocks harmful substances generated from MDF or PB.
Story Film uses an air-free application method and a special PP raw material with excellent workability, achieving a quality finish with fewer air bubbles and a clean result even when applied to spaces with varying finish surface shapes and angles—such as tambour board with repeating concave and convex surfaces, arch-shaped doors with long continuous curves, and art walls that cover the large areas of a living room. Among the Story Board patterns widely known as Hansol PET, Story Film was launched by selecting a final 30 patterns after 2,000 tests including rendering, choosing those with outstanding connectivity while accounting for even the most minute differences in texture and color compared to the color tones of Story Board. In terms of design, the same surface coating as Story Board makes it possible to create a matte, soft texture and a gentle, warm atmosphere. It consists of 30 patterns in total: 2 stone patterns with a soft concrete texture that captures an urban sensibility, 8 wood patterns that pursue harmony with real solid-wood patterns, and 20 solid patterns comprising the best-selling white & gray Story Board tones and pastels that serve as accents in a space.
A Hansol HomeDeco official stated, “As Story Film maximizes consumer satisfaction through refined choices, we plan to further develop and expand Story Film with designs extended to flooring, wall decoration materials, and more,” adding, “We expect the expansion of the Story Film business to increase sales of our own furniture material brand, Story Board.”
