Hansol Homedeco, a company specializing in eco-friendly interior building materials, has launched 'Collect Skin Floor' (hereinafter Skin Floor), Korea's first patented flooring made without formaldehyde—the only one of its kind in the country. The Collect line is Hansol Homedeco's premium range, and Skin Floor is its first flooring product. Its name is drawn letter by letter from the English word SKIN, meaning skin, and conveys the ideas of ▲Sustainable (kind to the earth) ▲Kind (pleasant to the touch) ▲Innovative (a patented next generation) ▲Nature (eco-friendly).
Skin Floor is Korea's only patented flooring that uses no formaldehyde—a leading cause of sick house syndrome—from its core material to its surface material, making it a completely eco-friendly floor with zero hazardous substances. Recommended by the Korea Atopic Dermatitis Association, the product can be used with confidence in any home, including those with atopic dermatitis or allergy sufferers, infants and toddlers, the elderly, and pets. In addition, its eco-friendly special surface treatment (EB coating) and real embossing offer a comfortable, soft touch, making it a 4th-generation floor that also takes a sustainable environment into account.
It has also been released in a large 190×1700㎜ format, reflecting the recent trend toward larger flooring while considering practicality such as ease of transport, workability, and post-installation stability. Rigid laminate flooring, which accounts for 70% of Korea's flooring, has a hard surface that shatters sharply when pointed or heavy objects are dropped on it, and the broken pieces can easily cut the skin. In contrast, Skin Floor is made of a soft surface material that resists cracking, so it can be used with peace of mind.
In addition, its high-tech EB coating technology minimizes discoloration from ultraviolet rays and offers excellent fingerprint and stain resistance. It also reduces consumer inconvenience during maintenance such as after-sales service. When the floor is scratched or dented in daily life, there is no need to remove and reinstall the flooring plank by plank; only the surface of the damaged area can be repaired quickly and cleanly, without dust, noise, or vibration. The design has been released in a total of six wood patterns, with stone patterns also to be introduced later.
