Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials affiliate of the Hyundai Department Store Group, is expanding its DIY product lineup with the launch of ‘Bodak Solar Self,’ a DIY-ready window insulation film, along with new colors for ‘Bodak Tile.’
Window insulation film is a film-type insulation material applied to windows that reduces the sunlight and radiant heat entering a room while maintaining visibility, delivering benefits such as insulation, UV blocking, and shatter prevention. In particular, ‘Bodak Solar Self,’ which Hyundai L&C is introducing this time, blocks up to 99% of UV rays and about 90% of infrared rays, and comes in three types—SSV60, SSV45, and SSV25—according to visible-light transmittance. The lower the number in the product name, the lower the visible-light transmittance and the darker the film, which also provides a privacy-blocking effect. A key feature of Hyundai L&C’s ‘Bodak Solar Self’ is that ordinary consumers can easily apply it, even without being insulation-film installation experts. This is because the back of the film has a bubble-adhesive surface that prevents air bubbles from forming while also allowing it to be peeled off and reattached to adjust its position. A Hyundai L&C official explained, “Window insulation film is a popular product in summer because it can reduce heating and cooling costs through insulation. In particular, an advantage of Bodak Solar Self is that customers can apply it themselves, so there is no need to wait for installation.”
Alongside this, Hyundai L&C also introduced new colors for ‘Bodak Tile,’ a DIY interior finishing material. ‘Bodak Tile’ is an adhesive interior finishing material that can be easily cut with a knife or scissors and applied like a sticker, allowing customers to easily decorate the walls of indoor spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. A key feature is its excellent waterproofing and durability thanks to an epoxy coating on the surface. The newly launched Bodak Tile colors feature tile patterns that reflect recent trends, including a vertically elongated ‘Long Brick’ shape and a ‘Terrazzo’ shape, a type of engineered marble. The new products consist of ▲Long Brick Pale Lemon ▲Long Brick Aqua Blue ▲Long Brick Reverse Pink, and ▲Mono Terrazzo ▲Yellow Terrazzo.
A Hyundai L&C official said, “With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic increasing the time people spend at home, ordinary consumers’ interest in interior design has grown and demand for DIY interior decorating is rising,” adding, “We plan to continue expanding the development of products specialized for DIY interiors.”
