The B2B/B2C wall finishing material 'Bodaq Wall' also gets a complete renewal
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company affiliated with the Hyundai Department Store Group, has expanded its product lineup by unveiling a range of premium new wall finishing materials with enhanced design and functionality.
First, 'Bodaq Stone Board' is a wall finishing material made by wrapping an 8 mm-thick board of mineral raw materials such as granite with the company's own interior film 'Bodaq Deco.' It is a B2B wall finishing material that can be broadly applied to residential facilities as well as a variety of commercial and public facilities. The new product is a premium wall finishing material that applies stone compression technology, which is highly regarded in the Northern European building-materials market. In addition to basic design patterns such as marble, stone, and wood, it also offers customized products with client-specific film designs developed and applied for each customer. Hyundai L&C established a dedicated design team responsible for developing films for Bodaq Stone Board and built an order-made process, allowing clients to select even the film material—such as PET, PVC, or PP—based on their intended use and budget. In particular, because 'Bodaq Stone Board' is a wall finishing material suitable for both exterior and interior use, applicable to both the outside and inside of buildings, it boasts high durability and product stability, and it has passed all tests for stain resistance as well as for hazardous substances such as heavy metals, radon, and TVOC. In addition, the mineral board used as the core material has a low moisture absorption rate and minimal deformation, making it suitable for bathrooms and building exteriors that are frequently exposed to moisture. Furthermore, to enhance its usefulness as an exterior material, the company developed a specialized exterior deco film certified as quasi-non-combustible by FITI Testing & Research Institute, an internationally accredited testing and certification body. The quasi-non-combustible film prevents flames from spreading further in the event of a fire and suppresses the emission of toxic gases. Its light weight and easy installation are also strengths. Compared to a 6 mm tile of the same area, it is about 40% lighter, enabling quick transport during installation without dedicated carrying tools, and because it can be installed using a dry construction method, construction time can be significantly reduced.
Hyundai L&C is also debuting 'Bodaq Sound-Absorbing Board,' a wall finishing material for professional soundproofing facilities. 'Bodaq Sound-Absorbing Board' has been verified by the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) to deliver a noise reduction effect at a level of 51% compared to ordinary wall finishing materials, and it has also been recognized for its flame-retardant performance by the Korea Fire Institute, giving it competitiveness in the special-purpose wall finishing material market. The new product features the tambour board structure that has recently gained popularity, enabling a trendy design effect, so it can be used not only in professional acoustic facilities but also as a finishing material for home interiors. In addition, Hyundai L&C is relaunching 'Bodaq Wall,' a B2B/B2C wall finishing material. Launched in 2020, 'Bodaq Wall' is a wall finishing product made by wrapping a 6 mm-thick magnesium and calcium carbonate board with interior film. Reflecting interior trends, the renewed 'Bodaq Wall' has dramatically increased its design patterns from the previous 30 to more than 400, including marble and stone concept designs. 'Bodaq Wall' has no minimum order quantity, so individual customers can purchase it without burden, and its easy installation is an advantage.
An official from Hyundai L&C said, "Bodaq Stone Board is a new-concept wall finishing material that applies advanced board production techniques to the company's own interior film technology," adding, "Based on our leading technological capabilities, we will actively target the global market and establish ourselves as a leading building-materials company whose technology is recognized in overseas markets as well."
Meanwhile, starting with this strengthening of its wall finishing material lineup, Hyundai L&C plans to sequentially introduce a variety of building-materials products that combine its specialized building-materials development and production technologies—including flooring, film, and windows and doors—with the latest interior trends. 080-729-8272
