Hyundai L&C has launched 'Cascade' and 'Venato,' new collections of its solid surface material 'HANEX.'
'HANEX' is an MMA (methyl methacrylate)-based solid surface material that allows smooth, seamless fabrication between materials, and is mainly used as an architectural finishing material for kitchen furniture, countertops, and commercial facilities such as hospitals, schools, and museums. Because it is a nonporous material with no voids, it offers excellent stain resistance and waterproofing, along with outstanding hygiene as key strengths. The newly launched HANEX collections—Cascade and Venato—consist of pattern lineups of 6 and 2 designs respectively, all inspired by nature. Inspired by cascading waterfalls, 'Cascade' features delicate patterns resembling flowing water. 'Venato' reinterprets marble design through a harmony of Calacatta patterns and flowing veins, capturing both luxury and timeless elegance to create a sophisticated space.
A Hyundai L&C official said, "We developed the new HANEX collections based on interviews with domestic and international architects and interior designers, as well as trend analysis results derived from big data," adding, "We plan to continue actively collaborating with experts across various channels to develop new products, and we will continuously develop products that satisfy customers to lead the domestic and international solid surface market."
Hyundai L&C's new HANEX collections 'Cascade' and 'Venato' are on display at 'Gallery Q,' the company's directly operated showroom located in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul.
In addition, Hyundai L&C announced that it has decided to supply HANEX solid surface to 'Lowe's,' the second-largest building materials retailer in the United States. 'Lowe's' is a building materials retail chain operating some 2,400 stores worldwide and around 2,000 stores in North America. The 'HANEX' products being supplied this time will first be sold at around 130 Lowe's stores located in New York, California, and other U.S. states. Hyundai L&C's policy is to first export products manufactured at its Sejong plant in Korea, and later additionally supply products manufactured at its HANEX plant in Texas, USA. Through this, the company plans to supply HANEX to some 2,000 Lowe's stores across North America by 2021. It has also set a cumulative HANEX sales target of 50 billion won over the next three years. Earlier, in May, Hyundai L&C established and began operating a HANEX plant in Texas, USA, to expand its production infrastructure. Spanning 33,057㎡ (about 10,000 pyeong), the plant will be able to produce 300,000 sheets of HANEX annually once full-scale production begins in the first half of next year. This amounts to 40% of the HANEX production scale in Korea. In particular, in the first half of this year, the company increased its solid surface-dedicated sales workforce at its U.S. local subsidiary by about 20% to strengthen HANEX sales competitiveness. Based on this, the strategy is to expand supply to local distribution channels such as Lowe's while also actively pursuing additional orders for countertops, tabletops, and more from large local franchises.
A Hyundai L&C official said, "As we begin to gain momentum in targeting the North American solid surface market, sales of our U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries in North America through September this year have grown by more than 30% compared to the same period last year," adding, "We also plan to raise our North American sales, currently at around 160 billion won, to around 250 billion won within three years." 080-729-8272
