Experts handle every manufacturing process by hand
Hyundai Livart has launched its premium furniture line, the 'LIVART MEISTER COLLECTION' (hereinafter the Meister Collection). Hyundai Livart plans to compete in the high-end furniture market—currently dominated by overseas luxury brands—by rolling out its own brand.
Hyundai Livart's 'Meister Collection' is a top-tier premium furniture line that captures a beauty that is solid yet soft and strong yet flexible, using the finest materials. It is distinguished by the use of the highest-grade natural solid woods such as walnut, ash, and birch—rarely seen in the domestic furniture industry, which primarily relies on plywood-type materials like MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and PB (particle board). Drawing inspiration from anything in daily life, the 'Meister Collection' showcases gracefully flowing lines and beautiful silhouettes built on Livart's own advanced technical expertise.
In particular, the 'Meister Collection' entrusts the development and production of every product to the 'Meister LAB,' a premium furniture development laboratory. Last year, with the goal of 'leaping into a premium brand through quality upgrades,' Hyundai Livart established the Meister LAB, made up of more than 20 master-level technical experts across various fields—including a solid-wood furniture master craftsman with 45 years of experience, as well as leather and fabric specialists. The Meister LAB is equipped with more than 30 types of high-performance equipment, including a '5-axis CNC machine' that realizes the curved solid-wood processing technology regarded as an essential element of luxury furniture. Producing a single item of the premium 'Meister Collection' furniture involves more than 10 craftsmen, each specializing in a material or process such as solid-wood processing, fabric, and leather. Because experts carry out every production step by hand, production takes at least three weeks per item. The Hyundai Livart 'Meister Collection' products making their debut this time comprise a total of eight items—beds and sofas. The beds consist of four models: ▲Noce ▲Floral ▲Grande ▲Bird. Among them, the flagship bed 'Noce' uses natural walnut, the finest species of wood, on both sides of the headboard, letting you feel the color and atmosphere that solid wood provides, and it is characterized by three-dimensional curves that give a majestic impression. The 'Floral bed,' designed with inspiration from flower petals, uses solid birch. It emphasizes a soft feel by bringing out the wood species' inherent natural grain and bright color, and by processing the solid wood into smooth curves, it is realized to look as if a flower is blooming.
The 'Meister Collection' sofas, offered in four models—▲Kuss ▲Margarit ▲Arve ▲Bay—are characterized by their bold design and color. The signature product, the 'Kuss' sofa, is a 3.5-seater; its name means 'kiss' in German. The 'Kuss' sofa was designed with the elegant yet voluminous lines of lips as its motif, and its color is also drawn from the red of lips. 'Arve' boasts a rich sense of volume, evoking the rounded shape of an olive tree formed by its spreading small leaves. 'Margarit' is a design completed after much thought about the forms of the many flowers around us, presenting an image of flower petals stacked layer upon layer. 'Bay,' a product inspired by a UFO, uses soft bouclé fabric in a design that wraps around you cozily, giving a warm sense of stability when you sit down.
Starting with the eight bed frames and sofas unveiled this time, Hyundai Livart plans to additionally introduce a total of 15 new products, including dining tables and tea tables, within the year.
Meanwhile, the 'Meister Collection' can be found at 12 Livart Total showrooms nationwide, including The Hyundai Seoul, as well as at the official online mall, Livart Mall (www.hyundailivart.co.kr). 1577-3332
