Eco-friendly design applied; a venue for communication and product experience
'Generation 7000' series launches with its largest lineup ever
Miele Korea, the Korean subsidiary of German premium home appliance brand Miele, has extensively renovated the Miele headquarters building on Nonhyeon-ro in Gangnam-gu and newly opened the 'Miele Experience Center Gangnam.'
The new Miele building strengthens its consistency with the Generation 7000 built-in appliance series through a modern, sophisticated 'dark grey and red' concept. In the exhibition spaces on the first and second floors, designed with interiors that make visitors feel as though they are in an actual premium kitchen, consumers can view Miele products displayed to suit the characteristics of each appliance and check even the finest details thoroughly.
A space where visitors can cook and experience Miele products firsthand has also been prepared. In the 'Active Kitchen' on the second floor, a variety of expanded cooking classes will be held, allowing customers to cook and experience the products directly in order to enhance their real-life usage experience.
In addition, the building is characterized by an eco-friendly design applied throughout to save energy, along with high-performance materials used to improve durability. Rather than electric heating and cooling machines, a water-based heating and cooling system has been applied; the exterior walls feature triple-glazed Low-E glass measuring a full 43 mm, and the beautiful exterior membrane enveloping the building not only creates a visual effect but also reduces heating and cooling loads to save energy. To improve durability, the thickness of the exterior curtain wall bar frame was increased from 4 mm to 6 mm, and an open-joint method without silicone treatment was applied to the exterior aluminum sheet joints.
Miele explained, "We undertook a major renovation of the Miele building to mark the launch of the 'Miele Generation 7000 series,' the built-in kitchen appliance lineup with the largest range in Miele's history," adding, "This is the first complete renewal since the building first opened in 2006. Timed to the launch of the Miele Generation 7000 series, we have given it a new look in order to more effectively present the most innovative premium built-in kitchen appliances and a premium lifestyle to domestic consumers."
The reinforcement of the 'Miele Generation 7000' series with its largest-ever lineup comes about six years after the domestic launch of the Generation 6000 series in 2014. The newly unveiled 'Miele Generation 7000' series comprises a total of 28 models: △built-in electric ovens (7 models) △combi ovens (4 models) △steam ovens (1 model) △combi-steam ovens (3 models) △warming drawers (2 models) △induction cooktops (7 models) △two-in-one induction cooktops with integrated hood (1 model) △coffee machines (3 models). As for dishwashers, 8 models of the G7000 series—featuring the world's first automatic detergent dispensing function—were unveiled in September.
The products in the Miele Generation 7000 series have undergone rigorous durability testing and are designed to be used for up to 20 years. Some items are currently available for pre-order, and further details can be found on the official Miele Korea website or online store.
