Noroo Paint & Dankook University Volunteer Corps
Main Entrance of the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan
Noroo Paint, in collaboration with the Independence Hall of Korea and a volunteer corps from Dankook University, created a mural on the bridge at the main entrance of the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan.
Centered on the Independence Hall's Nambeol Bridge, the project produced two mural works measuring 30 meters in length and 4 meters in height, along with twelve pillars each 4.5 meters in circumference. The murals were painted around themes of love for the nation, including the independence movement, the mugunghwa (rose of Sharon), the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag), Hahoe masks, hanbok, and taekwondo.
The work was completed through the talent donation of current Dankook University students. After completing the mural with eco-friendly water-based paint, Noroo Paint also provided ‘Cupid Clear Coat,’ a newly developed mural discoloration-protection material, to help preserve the artwork for years to come.
The Independence Hall stated that crossing the bridge with the newly created mural leads naturally into a path connecting to the ‘Mugunghwa Theme Park,’ allowing it to serve as a landmark for reflecting on the meaning of the independence movement anew.
Noroo Paint had also previously participated in the ‘Creating a Happy Rest Area with Murals’ project carried out at the Independence Hall in 2018. This year as well, the company actively sponsored the creation of murals at the Independence Hall, and beyond this, it is taking part in mutually beneficial regional development through support for public-interest mural projects.
Noroo Paint is a ‘liberation-born company,’ founded together with Korea's liberation in 1945 and marking its 76th anniversary this year. Established in November 1945 on the corporate philosophy of ‘For My Homeland,’ it is a leading domestic paint company that has walked alongside the history of liberation and holds the corporate ideal of serving the nation through business. To commemorate Liberation Day together with visitors to the Independence Hall, Noroo Paint donated the paint needed to create a mural that reflects on the meaning of the independence movement.
