A Warm Touch Sustained for 15 Years
Targeting 18 Residential Facilities for People with Disabilities
Kumho Petrochemical (CEO Baek Jong-hoon) announced that, continuing from last year, it will carry on its customized assistive device support program again this year.
Kumho Petrochemical's 'Customized Assistive Device Support Program' began in 2008 to help improve the daily lives of people with severe disabilities who have difficulty getting around, and has continued for 15 years through this year.
For this donation, a total of 51 recipients were selected from 18 residential facilities for people with disabilities located in the Seoul metropolitan area, and Kumho Petrochemical plans to complete the manufacturing of the individually customized assistive devices by the end of June.
The special wheelchairs provided as customized assistive devices are fitted with a urethane Inner (a customized posture-support device) that precisely conforms to each individual's body, helping to improve mobility and convenience for people with disabilities.
Park Chan-koo, Chairman of Kumho Petrochemical Group, said, "It is deeply meaningful that we have carried on for 15 years this customized assistive device support program, which began out of concern for the underprivileged," adding, "Kumho Petrochemical will continue to demonstrate its commitment to realizing social value going forward."
Meanwhile, although Kumho Petrochemical had unavoidably conducted its social contribution activities in a non-face-to-face manner over the past two years due to the spread of COVID-19, it plans to actively consider switching to in-person activities starting in the second half of this year.
