Namu & People, the official importer of Dunn-Edwards Paints, has newly opened a showroom at its Gwacheon headquarters. In order to share and communicate with customers the history of Dunn-Edwards Paints, its beautiful colors, and its many other strengths through space rather than through text or photographic images, Namu & People has transformed the second-floor area of its headquarters building—previously used as a training room—into a showroom.
The Gwacheon showroom set out to present a splendid and beautiful space using just a few colors. Decorated overall in white and a French style and complemented by antique furniture, the showroom lets customers see for themselves the luxurious colors and smooth textures of Dunn-Edwards Paints. In addition, the space was designed to help consumers who want to decorate their interiors with paint by showing how the paint pairs with other materials such as tile and hardwood flooring.
Rather than dividing the space into sections, it was planned so that every area can be utilized. First, the central hall directly facing the entrance surrounds the Dunn-Edwards color chips with brilliant lighting and clean white display cabinets on both sides, so that customers see them first. On the right side, flooring was installed and a large table placed to create a space where various consultations, meetings, and lectures can be held. The other areas are arranged as spaces where customers can freely look around, enjoy coffee and tea, and relax comfortably. The showroom also hosts displays and educational activities to help customers choose their paint, and it can be rented out as needed.
An official from Namu & People said, “Because paint is a finishing material, it is difficult to select a color simply by looking at color chips alone, so customers often choose their space’s color or seek help through consultation with an expert. In particular, when doing self-interior work with paint or entrusting the work to a contractor, customers cannot help but be careful in choosing colors. Namu & People opened the showroom to help such customers choose colors by showing them, in person, spaces finished with paint.” Meanwhile, Namu & People, founded in 2001, is the official importer of Dunn-Edwards Paints and became the first to sell eco-friendly imported paint through an online shopping mall. It has built a community related to painting and DIY so that even beginners can easily take on self-painting and interior work. Furthermore, by promoting the importance of eco-friendly interiors and self-interior methods, it has had a significant influence on the domestic market, which had been barren ground for DIY. Dunn-Edwards Paints, meanwhile, began as a family company in 1925 and, through its dedication and commitment to quality, grew into a leading paint company in the United States. It is chosen as a living and building material for its beautiful colors, long-lasting durability, and use of hardeners that are harmless to the human body (EG-FREE). Today it is recognized for its top quality and value by professionals and consumers throughout the Southwest, and it provides not only paint but also a complete line of related supplies and equipment along with excellent service. 02-3679-0101
