Heat-Reflective Paint for Building Exterior Walls
Korea's First 'CRRC Cool Wall'
Noroo Paint has become the first company in Korea to earn 'CRRC Cool Wall' (hereinafter Cool Wall) certification from the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), the U.S. specialized certification body for energy-saving coatings.
Last year, separate from its existing Cool Roof certification for rooftop heat-reflective paints, CRRC introduced the Wall Rating Program, which requires specifications and functions suited to building exterior walls. This is the world's first and only energy efficiency rating that evaluates products for building exterior walls.
To obtain Cool Wall certification, a Solar Spectrum Reflectometer setting appropriate for building exterior walls is required. After the initial evaluation, a three-year aging test demands test results centered on exterior wall application, such as testing at an angle (90°) suited to building exterior wall installation.
Noroo Paint's certified heat-reflective paint for building exterior walls (Energy Saver Cool Wall) combines infrared reflection and heat-blocking technologies, meeting the Cool Wall certification criteria for both solar reflectance and thermal emittance. In terms of quality, it also satisfies the physical properties of the KS M 6010 Exterior Grade 1 standard and offers excellent alkali resistance, water resistance, wash resistance, and weather resistance.
Since launching its rooftop heat-reflective paint (Energy Saver Cool Roof) in 2015, Noroo Paint has promoted the excellence of its products through social contribution activities, including Cool Roof campaigns targeting facilities for vulnerable groups in partnership with local governments nationwide. As regulations to reduce carbon emissions have tightened amid recent global warming and climate change, interest in heat-reflective paints—which lower building surface temperatures and help save cooling energy—has been gradually growing, and demand in the construction market is also on the rise.
