‘Steel Recycled Anti-Corrosion Paint’ Certified by International Certification Body
Replacing Import-Dependent Pigments, Contributing to Domestic Steel Resource Circulation
Noroo Paint has obtained Recycled Content Verification for its ‘Steel Recycled Anti-Corrosion Paint’ from Intertek, the UK-based, world’s largest testing, inspection and certification body.
Intertek’s Recycled Content Verification grants certification for the recycled content declared by a company through rigorous testing and review in accordance with the ISO 14021 guidelines, and provides a product label so that customers can easily recognize the material-related environmental certification. The certified Steel Recycled Anti-Corrosion Paint is a product that recycles the byproduct (slag) generated during the steel manufacturing process as a paint raw material. Functionally, it offers excellent adhesion and film strength, and its relatively superior anti-corrosion performance makes it suitable for a variety of uses, such as preventing the corrosion of steel structures.
During the product development stage, Noroo Paint applied surface modification technology to establish pigment and paint technologies that improve dispersibility while simultaneously enhancing compatibility. In addition, the company has secured technology capable of replacing the extender pigments that had largely been dependent on imports.
Recently, the domestic steel industry has been actively pursuing policies for the efficient recycling of steel byproducts as part of its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, and is vigorously continuing joint research and development with various industries to recycle steel byproducts.
