Witty, clean murals give

Mangwon World Cup Market a fresh new look

Noroo Paint has successfully wrapped up the ‘Poster Challenge,’ a supportive donation event held together with Mangwon World Cup Market amid enthusiastic customer participation.

The Poster Challenge was carried out to breathe new life into traditional markets, which are seeing more visitors following the lifting of social distancing measures. Through this donation challenge, Mangwon World Cup Market—where paint had peeled away in various spots over the years—was reborn with the witty, clean artwork murals of artist Kim Da-ye, and the transformed atmosphere of the traditional market drew a strong response from visitors and merchants alike.

With a donation method that anyone could easily take part in, this challenge exceeded its participation target, drawing more than 10,000 participants.

As the target figure was surpassed, Noroo Paint went beyond the initially planned painting of worn walls and murals to add MMA point construction on the market floor and to replace the market’s old banners. It also provided market promotional posters and placed advertisements at nearby bus stops to help boost visits to the traditional market.

In particular, on the day the murals were installed, Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital—which had previously signed a social contribution MOU with Noroo Paint for the development of the local community—joined in by carrying out medical donation activities for the traditional market merchants, adding further meaning to the sharing effort.

A Noroo Paint official said, “Each and every supportive poster from our customers came together to improve the environment of the traditional market,” adding, “Going forward, we plan to take the lead in environmental improvement activities that raise the value of life and spaces through paint.”
