Five products in total — washbasin, urinal, bidet, faucet and more — take eight titles; company vows to keep unveiling innovative products

DAELIM BATH (President Kang Tae-sik), Korea's No. 1 bathroom company, has captured eight titles at the ‘2020 Good Design Award (GD)’ and the ‘2020 Pin Up Design Award’ — two of Korea's three major design awards — proving its strength as a pioneer in bathroom product design.

A total of five products were selected for these awards: △Smart Washbasin △CU-600 △DST-6000 △FRAM Series △DL F6000 Series. Of these, the Smart Washbasin, CU-600 and DST-6000 earned the honor of winning both the Good Design Award and the Pin Up Design Award simultaneously.

The ‘Smart Washbasin,’ an integrated faucet washbasin combined with sterilizing water, won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the Good Design Award and the top honor, BEST OF BEST, at the Pin Up Design Award. The Smart Washbasin is equipped with smart features such as intuitive, easy-to-operate icons and a dial with LED lighting that lets users check the water temperature. In addition, its waterfall spout gives the design a clean, simple look, and with no faucet in the way, space can be used freely. It also alerts users to the danger of hot water and, using eco-friendly sterilizing water, suppresses bacterial growth and sterilizes — a product that stands out for its consideration of the user.

The ‘CU-600’ urinal, with sharp, slim side lines and a differentiated design accented by the edge at the bottom, scores full marks for interior effect as well. Its angle and slope have been carefully considered to minimize splashing, and its stainless steel material allows for hygienic use. In particular, with a perfect flush of just 0.6 liters, it achieves the top Grade 1 water-saving rating, making it a product well suited to an era that places importance on the environment.

In addition, the ‘DST-6000,’ Korea's slimmest bidet, was praised for maximizing space utilization with its compact design. It applies automatic seat opening/closing and flushing through body detection, and its rimless type makes it hygienic and easy to clean and to use, drawing strong popularity among users.

The ‘FRAM Faucet Series’ and the ‘DL F6000 Faucet Series’ were highly rated for applying handle designs that can be easily used in a variety of ways. The FRAM Series, which emphasizes the dynamic lines of water, was designed with attention to user safety down to the smallest details — its organic form minimizes water pooling, and an appropriate height was applied for easy handle use. The DL F6000 Series, by contrast, pairs a clean modern-classic design with emotive retro colors, and applies an eco-friendly cartridge that mixes hot and cold water; with a three-stage flow-control function that also delivers water savings, its environmental consideration stands out as well. Moreover, its vertical bar-type handle takes even wrist fatigue into account.
