Taking part in the social-contribution efforts of Yongsan-gu and the Amorepacific Welfare Foundation
Enhancing usability by proposing products designed with a wide range of users in mind
Daelim Bath (CEO Kang Tae-sik) announced that it has joined the ‘Aritaum Powder Room Public Restroom Improvement Project’ being carried out by the Amorepacific Welfare Foundation together with Yongsan-gu in the Itaewon Special Tourist Zone.
The ‘Aritaum Powder Room Public Restroom Improvement Project’ by Yongsan-gu and the Amorepacific Welfare Foundation is a social-contribution initiative created to provide convenience to citizens visiting Itaewon. Its purpose is to renovate aging existing facilities with designs tailored to the MZ generation and to create clean, safe public restrooms that anyone can use with peace of mind. To mark March 8, ‘International Women’s Day,’ a completion ceremony for the restroom renovation was held, signifying the opening of public restrooms that women can use with confidence.
In response, Daelim Bath actively took part in improving the restroom environment by supplying faucets, toilets, washbasins, and products for people with disabilities and for infants that match the design concept developed by the Amorepacific Welfare Foundation.
In particular, Daelim Bath plans to enhance convenience throughout the restroom-use experience by proposing products optimized for a space designed with consideration for a wide range of users, including people with disabilities and young children. To help people with disabilities use the restroom more comfortably, the urinal grab bar ‘DL P4155’ and the toilet grab bar ‘DL P4052L’ were installed in the adult areas as well, while in the children’s area the ‘CC-110’ toilet—with a design reminiscent of a bear to make children’s restroom experience enjoyable—was installed. In addition, the detachable bidet ‘DST-1300’ was installed to provide warm and hygienic usability.
Interior design effects were also carefully considered. A clean-looking undercounter washbasin was applied, and to harmonize with the design concept using green and black as accent colors, the black faucet ‘DL-L5610B’ was installed to heighten the interior effect.
A Daelim Bath official said, “Following a number of crime incidents and the COVID-19 pandemic, using public restrooms inevitably came to feel somewhat uncomfortable,” adding, “It is meaningful that, by taking part in this social-contribution activity, we were able to help shape a healthy bathroom culture and provide women with a safe restroom experience.”
