Daelim Bath Sweeps Eight Titles at 2022 Design Awards, ‘Proving Its Excellence’

Four Products Named Good Design Winners; ‘Smart Top-Bowl Washbasin CL-1600’ Wins Top Honor at PIN UP Design Awards

A total of four products from Daelim Bath (CEO Kang Tae-sik), Korea’s No. 1 bathroom company—the auto-flush integrated bidet ‘Smartlet Edge’ and ‘Smartlet Fit,’ the Smart Top-Bowl Washbasin, and the Angel Falls faucet series—were simultaneously selected as outstanding designs at the ‘2022 Good Design (GD) Awards’ and the ‘2022 PIN UP Design Awards.’

The Good Design Awards and the PIN UP Design Awards, both among Korea’s three major design awards, grant the ‘GD (Good Design)’ symbol and the ‘PIN UP’ logo, respectively, to products recognized for design excellence. In particular, among the selected products, the Smart Top-Bowl Washbasin won the top honor, ‘BEST OF BEST,’ at the PIN UP Design Awards, earning recognition for its design excellence. In addition, the Smartlet Edge, Smartlet Fit, and Angel Falls faucet series were named to the main award category, the ‘PIN UP BEST 100.’

▲The auto-flush integrated bidet ‘Smartlet Edge (DST-4000)’ combines practicality with modern sophistication, featuring sleek edge lines and the slim profile of a restrained, primarily straight-lined rectangular design, along with a metallic finish that conveys solid durability. In particular, it takes convenience and bathroom hygiene into account, applying an automatic seat open/close function that detects the user’s presence, as well as Premist—a function that thoroughly wets the ceramic bowl with water when the seat cover automatically opens and closes, so that waste is easily removed. With even more powerful cleaning performance and low water consumption, it reduces water waste, and its rimless design leaves no room for waste or bacteria to accumulate while making cleaning easy. As a tankless direct-supply product, it is free of condensation caused by temperature changes, allowing the bathroom space to be used hygienically.

▲The integrated bidet ‘Smartlet Fit (DST-550)’ is a compact, direct-supply integrated bidet that does not obstruct the door even in a small bathroom and offers excellent use of space. Through the harmony of simple straight lines and soft curved lines, it was designed to be beautiful from any angle, and it was designed to keep the top surface clean without water pooling. With even more powerful cleaning performance and low water consumption, it reduces water waste, and its rimless design leaves no room for waste or bacteria while making cleaning easy. The bidet seat applies ergonomics to provide an optimized seating experience that considers a wide range of users. As a tankless direct-supply product, it is free of condensation caused by temperature changes, allowing the bathroom space to be used hygienically.

▲The ‘Smart Top-Bowl Washbasin (CL-1600)’, which won BEST OF BEST, is an ultra-slim, 4 mm-thick top-bowl washbasin equipped with smart features such as LED lighting and a wheel-type dial for checking the water temperature. It is versatile enough to be installed on both a lower cabinet and a marble countertop, and presents a minimal design that suits modern, sophisticated interior settings. While the entire exterior is slim, the water-drop point is designed with sufficient depth to enhance usability and minimize water splashing.

▲The ‘Angel Falls (DL-8500) Faucet Series’ is a top-tier faucet that presents a design of smooth pebbles and water droplets on a wide top surface. The body of the Angel Falls, which concentrates Daelim Bath’s flat-surface machining technology, is designed as a soft triangular column that extends smoothly and slimly all the way to the water spout. For the shower-and-bathtub faucet, the switching lever on the left side is designed to feel integrated with the top surface, and it is designed so that water falls like a waterfall in keeping with its wide form.

With these awards, Daelim Bath has achieved a total of 51 wins at the Good Design Awards and 38 at the PIN UP Design Awards, solidifying its position as the company holding the most GD marks in Korea within its industry.
