Eight paintings by emerging artists on display at the '2021 Art Prize'

A special experience through artworks installed in kitchen and bathroom spaces

Daelim Dium, the total home interior brand of Daelim Bath (CEO Kang Tae-sik), took part in the 2021 Art Prize and exhibited artworks at its showroom in Nonhyeon-dong through November 14.

The 2021 Art Prize is an art competition and exhibition event held on the Nonhyeon-dong Furniture Street. Gangnam-gu introduced the American 'Art Prize' event in 2019, adapting it to local conditions, with the aim of revitalizing the Furniture Street, enabling citizens to enjoy culture and the arts, and providing emerging artists with opportunities to create and exhibit their work. Hosted by Seoul's Gangnam-gu, the Art Prize Gangnam Organizing Committee, and the Gangnam Cultural Foundation, the event marks its third year this year. One hundred works selected through open call—including paintings, sculptures, and photographs—could be viewed at some 16 venues, including the Daelim Dium showroom.

This year the event was held under the theme 'Good Art That Saves the Earth,' and Daelim Dium's Nonhyeon-dong showroom introduced eight works by emerging artists. Determining that the event's purpose of revitalizing the commercial district around the Nonhyeon-dong Furniture Street and supporting emerging artists aligns with its direction as a total home interior brand spanning not only bathrooms but also kitchens, doors, sliding doors, and flooring, Daelim Dium has participated for three consecutive years since the event was launched in 2019.

The exhibition was open for any customer visiting the showroom to view freely, offering visitors a special cultural experience through the appreciation of distinctive artworks installed in kitchen and bathroom spaces. In addition, outstanding works are selected through online voting by visitors and evaluation by expert judges.

A Daelim Dium official said, "We took part in the Art Prize again this year, following last year, out of sympathy for the public interest in revitalizing the Nonhyeon Furniture Street as well as supporting emerging artists," adding, "Through the artworks presented in Daelim Dium's kitchen and bathroom spaces, we will provide customers with new experiences and continue to offer diverse cultural experiences going forward."
