Preventing Illness and Protecting Health

KCC Glass is running a 'Metabolic Syndrome Management Program' to promote the health of employees at its headquarters.

Metabolic syndrome is a condition in which three or more risk factors—such as abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and dyslipidemia—appear at the same time, and it can lead to various diseases and complications including vascular disease and diabetes.

KCC Glass arranged this program to prevent illness and protect the health of its employees through metabolic syndrome management. The main participants of the program are headquarters employees who were found to have health concerns in last year's medical checkups and those in the at-risk group for cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease. In addition, any headquarters employee who wishes to manage their health can take part in the program.

KCC Glass's Metabolic Syndrome Management Program will be conducted a total of three times this year through on-site visits to the headquarters by the Metabolic Syndrome Management Center operated by the Seocho-gu Public Health Center for testing and counseling. Along with metabolic syndrome tests such as the five-item screening (blood sugar, blood pressure, waist circumference, triglycerides, and cholesterol) and InBody analysis (muscle mass and body fat mass), experts will provide personalized, one-on-one counseling based on the test results.

In particular, employees classified as being in the at-risk group based on their test results will undergo additional testing, and when consultation with a specialist is required, the company plans to link them with hospitals so they can receive prompt medical care. In addition, the company plans to provide continuous monitoring and systematic, customized management, including sending health management guidance via text message and email to participating employees.

A KCC Glass official said, "We arranged this program to prevent illness among our employees and to raise awareness about health management," adding, "We will continue to strive to create a healthy and safe working environment through a variety of programs."
