Bathroom specialist The Innus (CEO Hong Seung-ryeol) has announced that its viral video “The Toilet God: The Deity Who Guards the Bathroom,” produced to strengthen brand awareness and affinity, surpassed a cumulative 1 million views on YouTube in about a month since its release.
The Innus revealed that the 2-minute, 58-second viral video “The Toilet God,” released on its official YouTube channel on July 9, recorded 1.08 million views for the main video in about a month since its release. Adding the 420,000 views of the teaser video, the cumulative views of “The Toilet God” video have surpassed 1.5 million.
The Innus’s viral video “The Toilet God” is inspired by the Cheukganshin, the toilet ghost from Korean folk beliefs, and delivers a chilling delight through a twist-filled story that blends horror and B-movie humor at once. From the Toilet God playing the “Would you like red toilet paper or blue toilet paper?” prank that everyone heard at least once in childhood, to the comical scene of the god getting drenched by a bidet’s water while trying to prank the bathroom’s owner, the trials and tribulations of the deity guarding the bathroom bring out laughter. Through the video, The Innus conveys the message “The Innus’s curation bathroom package that even the Toilet God enjoys”—rather than the run-of-the-mill, look-alike bathroom interior styles—delivering a brand image of creating a joyful bathroom space.
The Innus’s “The Toilet God” video is winning praise for its fresh story that aptly mixes horror and B-movie humor, rather than a typical product introduction format, and for aligning well with the summer season. The Innus’s YouTube channel is being flooded with cheerful comments such as “Can’t believe I searched for an ad just to watch it lol” and “The Toilet God at my house is probably screaming right now.”
An official from The Innus said, “Through this brand video, ‘The Toilet God,’ we hope the public will recognize The Innus as a familiar and enjoyable brand,” adding, “Going forward, as a brand that creates joyful bathroom spaces, we plan to keep communicating with consumers in a cheerful and enjoyable way.”
