Stanley Black & Decker Offers Support for Power Tools Damaged by Monsoon-Season Flooding

Bookings Accepted via the Naver ‘DeWalt Direct Service Center’ Reservation System

Stanley Black & Decker Korea (CEO Hong Sung-wan), the world’s largest tool company, is offering a free inspection service through August 31 for customers’ DeWalt and Stanley corded and cordless power tools that suffered flood damage from this summer’s monsoon-season torrential rains.

Along with the free inspection service for DeWalt and Stanley corded and cordless power tools, Stanley Black & Decker is also providing product repair services at discounted prices. Products submitted by the fire, military, and police agencies who are working around the clock to recover from flood damage will be repaired 100% free of charge regardless of their warranty period, lending support to disaster recovery efforts.

Applying for the free inspection service is simple. Customers can submit their request through the DeWalt Customer Support Center or by visiting the Gyeonggi, Jungbu (Central), or Busan direct service centers in person. Customers who are unable to visit a service center during business hours may apply for the service through each service center’s Naver reservation system. The Naver reservation system accepts bookings outside business hours—on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.—and reservations can be made at least one day before the intended visit date.

At the service center, the submitted power tool’s operating condition is inspected, and after cleaning and applying grease (lubricant), the customer is advised on whether repairs are needed. If flooding requires parts to be replaced, the product can be repaired at a 25% discount; for batteries and chargers, only free inspection and drying services are provided.

Hong Sung-wan, CEO of Stanley Black & Decker Korea, said, “It is meaningful for us to offer a free inspection service for DeWalt and Stanley corded and cordless power tools, along with discounted product repair services, for our customers who suffered flood damage from this summer’s record-breaking downpours.” He added, “We hope this service provides real, practical help to the firefighters, soldiers, and police officers working on the front lines of disaster recovery, and that it offers a small measure of comfort to the citizens affected by the damage.”
