‘LED Lighting Support’ Agreement

Global lighting company LEDVANCE announced that it has been selected as an Energy Welfare Contributor, receiving the Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairman's Award at the 8th Seoul Energy Welfare Sharing Awards.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Council on Social Welfare are jointly promoting the Seoul Energy Welfare Citizens' Fund program, which supports energy production, savings, and benefits for energy-vulnerable groups in order to realize the value of sharing energy welfare. To this end, the Seoul Energy Welfare Citizens' Fund holds the Seoul Energy Welfare Sharing Awards each year, selecting contributors who have worked together to share energy welfare.

In April 2019, LEDVANCE signed an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Council on Social Welfare for ‘LED Lighting Support for the Residential Energy Efficiency of Energy-Vulnerable Groups,’ and has since worked to create a ‘brighter world together.’ Beginning with Kkumnamu Village Chorok Kkumteo, the company carried out LED lighting sponsorship and replacement activities at SG Bluewell, 12 in-home elderly welfare facilities located in Seoul, the Sharing Briquettes of Love program, and more.

In 2022, the company actively took part not only in supporting energy-vulnerable groups but also in providing emergency assistance to areas of Seoul damaged by heavy rainfall. In recognition of this, LEDVANCE was selected as an Energy Welfare Contributor and received a commendation with the Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairman's Award at the 8th Seoul Energy Welfare Sharing Awards.

A LEDVANCE official said, “Through LED lighting sponsorship, LEDVANCE has worked to ease the energy burden on energy-vulnerable groups and to improve the lighting environment at welfare facilities. Furthermore, we sought to provide an opportunity for LED lighting to become widely available to consumers, thereby helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to contribute to the spread of LED lighting through phased support for vulnerable groups and welfare institutions in need of LED lighting.”
