Lotte E&C won Bronze Awards (Korea Institute of Design Promotion President's Award) at the 2024 Good Design Awards for its new floor plan design and its lighting and heating control device design, respectively.

The award-winning new floor plan is the ‘New Floor Plan Development Targeting Future Consumers_Enter Lounge,’ a new residential floor plan developed by Lotte E&C in October last year to reflect the diverse needs of consumers in their 20s and 30s, the future consumer base. This floor plan diversifies the function of the ‘entrance’—the in-between space connecting the interior and exterior and the first impression of the home. By presenting a new system for the composition of existing spaces in response to changing indoor activities, it incorporates innovative elements that spatially express predictions and expectations for future living, such as a compact kitchen and the reconfiguration of the bathroom.

In particular, a key feature is that the space can be configured to suit users’ preferences—reflecting the needs of future consumers who want to pursue a variety of activities at home—so they can keep pets, grow plants, and enjoy natural lighting and scenery.

The other award-winning work, the TDS (Total Design Solution: integrated design of mechanical and electrical fixtures) mechanical and electrical finishing fixture design, is the design of devices that control lighting, heating, and more within a household unit. To pursue harmony with the interior space and the walls and to create a sense of unity, it produces a unique image using only basic shapes.

In particular, it is designed so that users can operate it easily and intuitively by minimizing the overall size and the bezel while expanding the area the user operates. At the same time, through the completion of its integrated design, it was praised as a product that optimizes both product functionality and aesthetic design elements.
