Hyundai Livart, which has been expanding its B2C sales network, has now rolled up its sleeves to tap into the office furniture market. Following the opening of a directly operated showroom specializing in office furniture in Daejeon last month, the company is unveiling new stores one after another in major metropolitan markets, including an additional showroom in Busan.
Hyundai Livart, a total interior company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, has opened the ‘Livart Office Busan Showroom’ in Haeundae-gu, Busan. This marks the first time Hyundai Livart has opened a directly operated office furniture showroom in the Yeongnam region.
The ‘Livart Office Busan Showroom’ occupies one above-ground floor with a net floor area of 660㎡ (about 200 pyeong), displaying and selling a total of 12 collections (some 700 items) of office furniture, including desks, chairs and partitions. In particular, in line with a commercial district densely populated with small business owners and new venture companies, the company has sharply increased the proportion of products from its SOHO-oriented office furniture brand ‘Livart Haum’ to about 65%. This means that more than 90% of Livart Haum’s products are displayed at the Busan showroom, making it the largest such lineup among all Livart stores nationwide.
An official from Hyundai Livart explained, “We opened a directly operated showroom in Haeundae-gu, Busan to raise brand awareness within the Yeongnam market,” adding, “Busan, where the showroom is located, is a commercial district with heavy foot traffic and excellent transportation access, and new business start-ups are increasing significantly—so much so that the growth rate in the number of newly established corporations reached an all-time high as of the first half of this year.”
Hyundai Livart is also creating a ‘Creative Office Showroom’ tailored to the latest shared-office trends. The ‘Creative Office Showroom’ is decorated with five different concepts, including a tiered workspace and a single-person workspace, and is open to the general public; customers who book in advance can hold corporate meetings, seminars and events there free of charge.
In addition, Hyundai Livart plans to directly present customers with examples of office furniture configurations tailored to the characteristics of different jobs—such as sales positions with a high proportion of field work and design roles that require ample space—and to provide comprehensive consulting services on office interiors, including meeting spaces and lounges in a variety of styles.
Hyundai Livart is expanding its distribution network to major metropolitan cities following the Seoul metropolitan area. It currently operates directly operated showrooms in Songpa, Seoul, and in Daejeon, and plans to expand to major metropolitan cities such as Gwangju and Daegu by 2023.
An official from Hyundai Livart said, “With the spread of trends toward shared offices and creative work environments, demand for new office spaces is rising even further,” adding, “Going forward, we plan to accelerate the expansion of our sales network, focusing on metropolitan markets with strong growth potential.”
